"Honestly Leo, this is amazing."

We laugh and chat all evening whilst eating our amazing three course meal, specially prepared by Chef Alma, one of the world's leading sous chefs and part owner of The Blue Ridge.

The orchestra begins to play a soft romantic tune that makes me feel like ascending into the sky.

"Dance with me," Leo says, taking my hand.

How I love having his arms around me. I never want this night to end. We dance while looking into each other's eyes. Leo suddenly stops, holds my left hand and gets down on one knee. He pulls out a box from his jacket pocket.

"Leo… what are you…?" My hands shoot up to my face in response to my surprise.

"Amanda McKnight, would you do me the honor and privilege of being my wife?" He opens the box revealing a beautiful diamond ring.

This is more than I could have ever dreamed of. With tears in my eyes, I nod and he puts the ring on my finger. He then embraces me and I kiss him with all the love in my heart.

Epilogue

Leonardo

"You lost!"

"What? No I didn’t!” I yell, as Kevin laughs at me.

"The bet was for 500 grand, right? Make sure you send the cash before midnight. I'd hate to call you a sore loser."

I shake my head wondering when I became so bad at golf. I used to be a pro!

"This isn't over, Kevin."

"Actually it is."

"Fine. But I'll beat you next time," I reply as we walk back to the car park.

Amy and I have been married for two years and it's been incredible. After some serious thought, I resigned as CEO of AlGage and started my own tech company;. I named it Leoman Industries, incorporating both mine and Amanda’s names. It might sound soppy, but if it wasn’t for her, I would never have accomplished this goal, so I feel it’s only right to acknowledge this in my way. Amanda has also achieved her goal, by setting up her own fashion business. She’s the happiest I’ve ever known her. We've accomplished so much together, and I love her more and more every day, if that’s even possible. She's brought so much beauty and joy into my life.

"When are you going back to California?" I ask Kevin as I drop him off at his hotel.

"Flight leaves tomorrow."

"Alright. I'll come pick you up."

"You're not trying to sweeten your way out of paying the bet are you?"

"No I'm not, professor … now please wipe that cheeky grin off your face."

***

"Leonardo, are you almost home?"

"Yes babe. You want me to get something for you from the store?"

"No. Just hurry home," she purrs. Oh, I know that code …

"Mmm. Alright. I'm racing home to you, baby. You stay right where you are."

“Ok, boss,” she groans. I love it when she calls me that. “Don’t be too long …”

I hit the pedal, careful not to attract the attention of highway patrolmen but I don't slow down until I get home.
