Jet Grant. The serious, ruthless grump… with a heart of pure gold hidden beneath that solid chest.

“Ava,” he breathes, leaning close.

“What’s this?” I bite my lower lip as I trace my fingers over his sinful lips, halting his advance.

They’re soft, a hint of five o’clock shadow above them.

“A man about to lose it if you don’t fucking kiss him.”

I laugh at his deep groan. But I hold back, despite being so desperate to kiss him I might lose my mind.

I just want to look at him a little longer. I want to remember this moment forever.

“I mean this.” I press the lightest of touches to the corner of his mouth.

The place where his lips curl up a tiny fraction.

I dust my lips over the spot in a whisper of a kiss, and he groans in response as he squeezes two handfuls of my ass, pulling me closer.

“What’s it look like?” he rasps.

I look into dazzling blue.

“It looks like a smile. A Jet Grant version,” I whisper.

His dark brows hitch. “Then that’s what it is.”

“Then that’s what it is,” I repeat in a hushed voice.

“Ava,” he growls.

“Jet,” I murmur.”

“Just fucking kiss me.”

I surge forward, smashing my mouth against his. The second our skin connects, Jet takes control, kissing me, devouring me, breathing life back into my body in a way I haven’t felt in six long months.

“I love you,” I gasp into his mouth.

He slides my body down his so he can angle my head back. His kisses grow slower, but they deepen as he takes his time reacquainting himself with my lips, my taste. I can feel the energy flowing through his every breath as it falls against my lips in the small moments that he pulls back to look at me like he’s checking that I’m real, before he dives back in and kisses me again.

His thumbs swipe up the happy tears that are still falling, then he rests his forehead against mine.

“You’re never leaving me again.”

“I never want to.”

The hint of a curl is back on his lips.

“I love you, Firefly.”

“It’s beautiful. But watch out for sharks,” I say.

Liv’s lips curl into a smirk as David looks at Jet for reassurance. Jet shrugs, and I bite back my laugh at David’s audible gulp.

We say goodbye as the two of them head out for the evening. Jet whisked us away from the airport in a private car and brought us back to the resort in Krabi where we came together all those months ago. He booked us side by side villas, and we’ve only just checked in. Our suitcases are sitting inside the doorway, untouched.

Liv insisted to David that they go to the bioluminescent beach tonight. She didn’t want to wait any longer to see it.
