His kisses were something else, and I couldn’t get enough of them. Kissing him immediately brought me a sense of belonging and crazy peace. That was so scary.

He gently pressed his teeth on my bottom lip, and I moaned as he licked and sucked my lip. Putting my hands on his chest, I pulled myself away from him.

“Wait,” I whispered as he tried to pull me toward him again. I needed to get this out before we went down a road neither of us could come out of. “We need to talk,” I said, and he frowned, immediately letting go of my hair. All men hated those four little words, and I totally understood. The news could either be really bad, or good but just not for them at that moment. “We have to put rules in place if we want this…” I motioned with my finger between us. “...to continue the way it is.”

“Okay.” He nodded, and I could tell he was only thinking with his dick and not brain. He sat down on the couch and pulled me down along with him to sit on his lap.

What was I going to say again?

“Yes, Naomi?” he smirked, as he drew small circles on my hips. With his free hand, he moved my hair from my shoulder, pushing it back to expose my neck. He softly bit the space between my neck and shoulder. Shivering, I got off his lap, but he kept a tight grip on my hand. His calloused big hand held mine in such a soft grip, it made my heart skip a beat. I tried to move away from him, but he only smiled as he kept on holding my hand.

“So we’re enemies, right?” I started off. Not the best approach to it, but I didn’t want emotions getting tangled up for something that just might be temporary.

Alexander’s eyebrows scrunched up as he let go of my hand, leaning back on the couch with me standing between his legs. I said something wrong, didn’t I?

“I—” He sighed and nodded, still staring into my eyes. “—yes.”

“Good, so we still see each other as enemies?” I nodded. Was I trying to convince myself?

“Who are just having fun together,” he agreed, and it felt like my heart sank all the way to the pits of my stomach when he said that. He shouldn't be the one making emphasis; it just hurts.

“Anyway, the only time we can engage in anything sexual,” I whispered, suddenly feeling fearful that someone just might be standing outside listening to our conversations. “... is when you honestly start engaging in the sessions. I mean just telling me the tiniest bit of information about how you’re feeling, what are your icks, what do you want to change, absolutely anything.'' Was I begging him right now?

But, this much should be fair. Alexander looked at me, confused, as he nibbled on his bottom lip. My fingers unconsciously touched mine as I remembered the feeling of them pressed together.

Shit, what am I thinking?

“Like a transaction?” he asked, raising one eyebrow. Whenever he did that, I just knew something stupid and smart was going to follow right after. “So you want to be paid for your services?” He smirked, and I rolled my eyes, placing my hands on my waist. Why was this man so annoying at times?

“Yes, I want to be paid for my services,” I said flatly as I stared at him.

“Hmm, I don’t know,” he hummed as he looked up at the ceiling.

“Then I guess this is over, then.” I shrugged as I went to sit down on my chair. His hands wrapped themselves around my waist and he pulled me back, pressing his head on the nook of my neck.

“Where do you think you’re going?” He held me tight against his chest. “Seducing me in that short skirt,” he whispered, and I tilted my head to look at him.

“What do you mean?” I was confused. “This pleated skirt reaches my calves.” I touched my skirt, pulling it, trying to prove my point.

“Exactly. I can see your ankles,” he said seriously, and I bit my lip trying to stop myself from smiling. A snort left my lips, and we laughed. “And your feet look dangerously gorgeous in those open-toe heels.” He knew so much about women. Should I be worried?

“Are you stupid?” I asked as I caught my breath. What era were we in where people could be seduced by ankles?

“No, but you’re finally smiling again.” He turned me around so that I could face him. “So fine, I’ll accept your services.” He rolled his eyes playfully, and I was tempted to hug him.

Nodding, I grabbed my notebook and sat down on my chair. Finally, we were getting somewhere.

“So, tell me about Aaron,” Alexander said as he sat down. I raised my eyebrow, confused by the sudden question. I had thought I was the one who was supposed to be asking questions.

“There’s nothing much to say about Aaron.” I shrugged as I sat comfortably on my chair. “We attended elementary and high school together.”

“No feelings were ever involved?” he asked, and I smiled as I leaned my head against my fist.

“Of course at some point there were emotions involved.” I laughed. “Having seen the same person since elementary has you thinking that, hey, this person just might be my soulmate.”

“And, did you two ever decide to pursue it?” I could see the curiosity in his eyes, and I shook my head.

“No, he dated my then-friend instead of me,” I told him honestly, and he slowly nodded, his tongue tracing his teeth. “Do you have more questions for me?” I guessed we could continue with conversation just for today.
