“This can’t be happening,” I insisted, blinking as a tear slid down my cheek.

“Why?”

“Because we can’t fall in love that fast,” I said. “It’s not possible.”

“So, you love me, too?”

“How the hell could I not love you?” I asked, the question ending on a small wail of frustration. “Two minutes. Two fucking minutes I’ve known you and I’m ready to spend the rest of my life with you. How is that even possible?”

“Call your dad,” he said. He slid his hand into my back pocket and pulled out my cell then slapped it into my palm. “Call him right now.”

“No!” I stared at him in shock. “You don’t have to do this.”

“Yes, I do,” he said. “In fact, you and I are not going to have sex until we’re married. I’ll prove to everyone that I love you and want you forever.”

“That’s bullshit,” I said. “First of all, what if we don’t like having sex together? Then we’ll be stuck together forever and be miserable.”

“You’re right,” he agreed solemnly. “Get naked.”

“Now who’s the brat?” I snapped, rolling my eyes.

“Still you,” he said. He scooped me up and tossed me over his shoulder, walking me back to the bed and dropping me on the mattress. “Call your dad or take your clothes off.”

“Those are my options?” I asked him incredulously. “I could just leave.”

“That’s true,” he agreed immediately. “If you want to go, I’ll take you home.”

“Then what happens?” I asked before sucking my lower lip between my teeth.

“With us?” he clarified.

I nodded.

“I’ll ask your dad for permission to marry you the next time I see him. I’ll send you flowers and chocolates and toss rocks at your bedroom window while I serenade you every night.” He shrugged. “The usual.”

“That deal sounds much better for me,” I admitted.

“Better than all this?” He ran his hands down his body and did a little shimmy that made me crack up.

“I love you,” I told him. And I meant it with all my heart. It didn’t matter that it was fast. It didn’t matter that it was crazy. That we went to different schools. That my father wouldn’t approved. Nothing mattered. Just Thomas.

“I love you, too,” he said. He lay down on the bed next to me and stared into my eyes. “I really, honestly, do.”
