"So far so good. Wish you and the others had been able to attend, but it was supposed to be a small affair. Although it had been bigger than I expected. I hadn't known anyone who had attended except Martinez."

"Is he gone now?"

"I have people watching him," I replied. "He packed up his house and had everything loaded into moving trucks. I'm just not sure where he is moving it to. I'll make a plan once I do."

"Let me know if I can be of any help."

"That's actually why I am calling. I want to run a few things by you."

"Shoot."

"I want to work on the shipping company, but I'm going to start out small with that and work my way up. There's a lot I need to learn about it before I go international."

"That sounds reasonable."

"It's the security company I wanted to talk to you about. I have a few ideas I wanted to pass by you." I let out a small chuckle. "Well, Delancy had a few ideas."

"You told him?"

I didn't have to ask what he was referring to.

"Yeah, I did. I felt he had a right to know."

"And what did he say?"

"That's the thing. He didn't seem that upset by it."

"Oh?" Jake sounded surprised.

Beyond the initial discussion I'd had with my frat brothers concerning where I came from and what my family did, we had never really discussed it, at least not until I came back to New York City. They had accepted me at face value, and that was one of the reasons we were still friends to this very day. They trusted me and I trusted them.

"Delancy has some things going on in his life, things he doesn't want to go public." And I wasn't about to say anything, not without his permission. "He believes we can help each other out and I'm inclined to agree with him."

"So, what are these ideas of his?"

"The security company. He believes we should not just train bodyguards but go all out. Secure houses, cars, even computers."

"Kind of a full-scale security operation."

"Exactly. I just need to figure out how to get it up and running. I have a couple of warehouses I'm thinking of retrofitting to create a home base and training center, but I was hoping to get your ideas on this."

"Security isn't really my thing, Alejandro, but I can send you someone who knows all the ins and outs. Fred has been with me for years. I trust no one more to keep me and Jai safe. I'll also send Stella. Her knowledge and experience are vast. Between the two of them, we can get you up and running."

I breathed out a sigh of relief. "That would be great, Jake. I figure I have about six months before Spain starts breathing down my neck. Do you think we can get something going before then?"

"Well, you do own a construction company. Why not use them to retrofit the place after Fred and Stella give you an idea of what you need?"

I smiled as I considered that idea. "That might work."

"I have a meeting this morning that I will need Stella for, and Fred has to go as my security, but I can send them over after that."

"I have a brunch date with my husband, but I will be home this afternoon. Say three o'clock?"

"Oh, oh, going on a date with the new hubby, huh?"

I almost blushed.

Almost.
