He grinned, slapping himself on the chest. “Baby, you’re looking at the original Trojan Horse!”

“You were a wooden horse made by the Gods to trick the city of Troy into allowing soldiers into their city?”

“Well, when you put it that way,” he frowned. “But you get my point. We’ll make our own Trojan Horse.”

“There’s just one small problem.”

He grinned at me, nodding his head like a madman. “Yeah? What’s that?”

“We’re expected on a plane first thing in the morning.”

“Leave it to me,” he chuckled. “I’ll take care of everything.”

“That’s what I was afraid of,” I muttered under my breath.

“What’s that?”

“Nothing. I can’t wait to break into a house with you.”

He slapped me on the back, then slung his arm around my neck. “That’s the spirit!”

LOCK

I paced our suite, trying to get past the knot twisting in my stomach. I shouldn’t feel this way. We did our job. We were told to move on. That’s what I was doing, so why did I feel so shitty about it?

“Are you coming to bed?” Juliette asked, walking out in only shorts and a tank top. I did a double take, checking her out again. It was what she always wore to bed, but she looked damn sexy in it.

“Uh…in a minute.”

Groaning, she walked over to me and plopped down beside me. “What is it?”

Sighing, I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I got this off my chest. “I’m pissed at myself.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m ordering Brock to leave Wren behind.”

“Is she really in danger?” Juliette asked.

“Probably.”

“Then why are you allowing this guy to fire you?”

“Because…because I have to protect Cash too. This is his business and Ben Crosby holds a lot of sway. If I fuck this up, it could really hurt the company.”

She nodded knowingly. “And if you walk away, Wren could be hurt.”

“Exactly. Not to mention, it makes me a little hypocritical to tell Brock to walk away right now just because he’s involved with Wren. If anyone had told me to walk away from you, I would have reacted the same way.”

“So, what you need is a way to follow your orders and help Brock out.”

“Got any brilliant ideas?” I asked, quirking a smile at her.

“No,” she said, wrapping her arms around my neck and nuzzling her nose into me. “But if you come to bed, I’ll try to help you forget.”

I nodded, staring off at the far wall. “Yeah, I’ll be there in a minute.”
