“You know, you could call her,” Edu said, flipping another page.

The crinkling noise had me cringing. How many times did I have to listen to this in one day? “Would you stop that?”

“Stop what?”

“That!” I yelled when he flipped the page again.

He finally looked up at me and frowned. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about how loudly you’re flipping the page.”

“You mean like a normal human being?”

“No, I mean like the psycho that you are! You don’t have to be so rough with it!”

Grinning, he closed the magazine. “I’m sorry, I had no idea you were so offended by my treatment of the magazine.”

“It’s not about how you’re treating it. It’s about the fact that I have to listen to it.”

“But you called me a psychopath. Clearly, you have a problem with me.”

“Not with you. With how you flip the page.”

“Yeah, because I wasn’t considering the page’s feelings.”

Sighing, I rested my head back. But as soon as I closed my eyes, he was back at it, being extra loud just to piss me off. I tried to shut off my brain, but it was as bad as someone who snored at night.

Then he let the page drag against his shirt as he turned the page. It was almost more than I could bear. I would go crazy if I had to continue to listen to this. A man could only take so much.

The door swung open and Lock walked inside, jerking his chin at me. “Feeling better?”

I was pretty sure my face was beet red and sweating just from thinking about that damn page. “Do I look like I’m better?”

He frowned. “Actually, no. We should get the doctor.”

“I don’t need the doctor. What I need is for you to get that psycho out of my face!”

He slowly turned and faced Edu, who waved at him. “Edu?”

“Yes,” I gritted out.

“He’s a psycho?”

“He’s flipping the pages loudly.”

“Flipping…”

“And when I called him out on it, he started letting the pages drag over his shirt. I can’t take it!”

“Alright, alright,” Lock rolled his eyes. “Edu, get out.”

“Gladly,” he grinned, pushing up from his seat. “Oh, and you might want to talk to him about his woman. He’s been sulking all day.”

“I wasn’t sulking,” I retorted. “I was trying to sleep.”

“Right, while moaning about how lonely you are.”

“What do you know about it? You don’t have anyone.”
