He looked down at his feet, then back to me. “I’m just standing here.”

“Standing here and annoying me,” I snapped. “I’m trying to talk about the job, and you’re trying to find a way for me to get back in her pants.”

He held up his hands and backed up a step. “Pardon me for looking out for little Brock. You know, it’s a strange day when a friend can’t help his other friend get help.”

“Your little friend? My penis is not your little friend.”

“He sort of is,” he grinned.

“He really isn’t. What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Ya know, people ask me that all the time.”

“And?”

“And I guess you’ll never know. Not that I would tell you since, apparently, it’s wrong for me to help your penis!”

“Because you’re a guy! There is no helping my penis!”

“Hey, friends don’t let friends not get laid.”

“No, friends don’t let friends drive drunk! Your sayings are all mixed up!”

He scoffed, backing away from me like I had offended him. “Well, let me tell you, I would never tell you it was wrong to help my dick. In fact, if I was dickless, I would hope to God I had a friend who would do everything in his power to help me feel the sweet pleasure of Anna’s pussy again.”

I plugged my ears. I didn’t want to hear this shit. “Fox, just shut the fuck up!”

“No, you know why? Because I thought we were friends. I thought this,” he said, jerking his hand between the two of us, “meant something. And to me, that means going the distance. Helping a man when he’s down. Helping him get laid. It’s all part of the friendship process. And if you can’t see that, I don’t know where we go from here!”

“To bed! Alone! That’s where this goes.”

He scoffed, taking another step back. “I really thought we had something special. I thought this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

“What part of this made you think friends give each other dick advice?”

His eyes widened comically. “The part where I helped you take her willingly against her will! That was the whole point. It was a bonding experience for us!”

“No, the point was to get her away from her crazy father. It had nothing to do with us!”

He actually looked hurt. “Seriously?”

“Yes!”

His shoulders slumped in disappointment. “Wow. I gotta say, I did not see that one coming.” He sniffled, wiping at his nose. “You know, I think I need to be alone for a little bit.”

“Fox—”

“No. Just don’t,” he said, turning on his heel and walking away.

Good riddance. This was the last time I enlisted the help of Fox. The man was too much to take. I thought it was bad when he lost his edge, but now that he was back, I wanted to put a fucking bullet in my head.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Dash’s number.

“Is it safe?” he answered immediately.

I rolled my head back. “Yes, your secret is safe. For now. What do you have for me?”

“What do you have for me?” he countered.
