I laugh as I follow them inside and say hi to my other siblings. Lennon and Marley are introducing Quinn to my parents. I walk over to them and hug my mom then my dad.

“Quinn is beautiful,” my mom whispers to me.

“She’s a goddess.” I smile.

“I can’t wait to get to know her, Jagger. Now your brothers and sisters need to find their forevers. Then our family will be complete.”

I hug my mom. She’s always been the glue that’s held our family together. My dad said he knew the moment he saw her at one of his concerts that she was going to be his wife.

“I heard that, Mom. I’m perfectly fine the way I am.” Bowie laughs as he hugs her too.

“I just want all my babies to be happy. And I suppose if being single makes you happy? I’ll accept that too,” she says to him, making faces.

“You and Dad have had the fairytale, mom. That’s a lot to live up to,” Bowie says.

I nod. “Bowie’s right, I can only hope the love story Quinn and I have is like yours.”

“You just have to be true to each other. Always honest and always loyal. I used to have women trying to tell me your dad was cheating on me. We even had some try and say their kid was his. No matter how much it hurt, I always supported your dad. Because he never gave me a reason not to. So I told myself that until he made me feel like I needed to worry, I would try not to.”

I love the outlook on life that my mom has kept. I hope that Quinn will do the same. Because we’re musicians, things like that could happen to us too. The one thing I do know is that I’ll never make Quinn question how I feel about her. She’s the only one I’ll ever want. I know she worries about that, there are some women that follow us wherever we play. Quinn made a comment about seeing a few of the same women at our last few gigs. We all notice them, and they try to get backstage at every show. But they never do, we don’t allow anyone to come back. And we’ve never taken anyone home from a gig.

Well I haven’t, but Bowie did…once. We all learned a lesson from that night. The woman started stalking him and telling people she was his girlfriend after that one night. It got bad enough that he had to get a restraining order against her.

Meeting Jagger’s parents was perfect. I don’t know why I was so worried, they’re exactly what he said they would be. Now I really need to tell Jagger about how I was found. It doesn’t define me, but it is a part of me and he deserves to know all of me. And Iv’e already asked Luciana if I can bring him and his siblings to one of the family barbecues they have. She said she would need to make sure it’s okay with her dad. Her dad is Giacomo Bastianini, President of the Cimaruta MC. I’ve been lucky enough to be accepted as part of their family. But now I want them to meet Jagger and his family, I want him in every part of my life.

“How are you doing, Quinn?” Jagger’s mom, Annabelle asks.

“I’m okay.” I smile.

“I know being around all of us can be a little overwhelming. I wanted to talk to you, I can see how happy you make my son. And that makes me happy. But I wanted to make sure you know what you’re signing up for being with him.”

“What do you mean?”

“The kids have grown up in the spotlight because of their dad, Scott. When his band was at their peak, everyone seemed to know us. Or wanted to know us. We did our best to shield them from the bad stuff, but it still happens. Women that think they’re fair game. Even though they know about us.”

“I trust Jagger, I know he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. I did ask him one thing. If there comes a time that he doesn’t want to be with me? Just tell me, don’t cheat or start looking for someone else. And I promised him the same.”

Annabelle hugs me. “Jagger is lucky to have found you. I think you’re going to be fine. But if you ever need to talk, I’m here. I’ve been through all of it with Scott. But like you, I never doubted his love and loyalty to me and our children.”

I hug her back. “Thank you. I really appreciate that. I have seen the way some of the women act at their shows. They act like they know the band personally and they’re laying claim to them. It can get overwhelming sometimes.”

Annabelle nods. “Unfortunately that part never goes away. And the more famous they get, the worse it gets. But if I know anything about my children? It’s that they would never cheat on anyone they’re with.”

“I don’t think Jagger would do that either.” I smile at her. “And I’m the lucky one to have found him. It’s funny because one of my best friends just got married and now they’re having their first baby. Right before I met Jagger, I was telling Luciana that maybe it would be nice to have someone like she and Rónán have each other.”

“Is she the first of your friends to find her person?”

“No, she’s the first to get married. Her twin sister found her person too, but they’re not married yet. And I’m pretty sure another of our group has found hers too. They’re just pretending they don’t like each other.” I laugh.

Annabelle laughs. “Sometimes it takes a bit to realize you can’t fight destiny.”

“I hope so because we can all see what’s going on.” I laugh.

“I’d love to meet your friends too, maybe we can have them over for dinner.”

“That would be really nice. They’re more than my friends, they’re my family.”
