“Tell Hitak to let her go,” I growl, “or I swear I’ll castrate you before they kill you.”
“Let her go,” Andred commands. It comes out a little high pitched and then he releases my neck completely.
Zeno sprints over, pulling me into his arms while Tekil and Vi’del grab hold of Andred.
It’s the same for Tia. Serkan embraces her while the other two grab Hitak.
But where is Soav?
Glancing around at the bloody mess and lifeless bodies, I spot Soav laying in a puddle of blood, eyes fixed open. And then I see…
“Oh no!” I cry, trying to wiggle out of Zeno’s arms. “Let me loose!”
Jax is laying on his left side, blood spreading out around him.
Moak is there in two seconds, scooping Jax up. “He’s alive. I’m taking him to Medical for the Human doctor to look at him.” Looking at Bastian, he says, “find out who hired the Cadus. I don’t care how you get the answers, just get them. This has to stop.”
Bastian nods.
Whispering in Zeno’s ear, I ask, “What’s he talking about?”
“Someone hired the Cadus to either kill or kidnap Tia.”
“My God, why?”
“That’s what they need to find out—who and why.”

Zeno releases me to Tekil. Wrapped in his loving arms, I close my eyes, loving his caresses on the nape of my neck.
Zeno gives Tekil a look, and I know they are speaking privately. Then Zeno and Vi’del follow Bastian down the corridor.
“Where are they going?”
Tekil kisses the top of my head. “To help Bastian on the Cadus ship.
Why would anyone hire the Cadus to capture or kill Tia? I wonder. It must drive her mates out of their minds. I only hope the three of them can find something…
Leaning back, I smile while staring into Tekil’s beautiful eyes. He looks so different now.
“You did it,” I say softly.
He changed from half-shifted and now he’s in his natural, all sexy and true form. I thought he was handsome before, but now…I fight the urge to fan my face.
Is it hot in here?
“I did.” He smiles lovingly down at me. “Seeing you in trouble…I could not bear it.”
“So, you let go.”
Let go of the Kintue ways and fully embraced who he is now…
