Greer turned and looked at me over his shoulder as we walked to the door. “Who are you, and what did you do with your grumpy asshole alter ego?”

“He’s in here, baby. Don’t you worry; I’ll be showing you my asshole side later.” I winked at him as he opened the door, making him laugh.

“Good morning, Rodrigo!” Greer greeted the handsome man as he extended his hand to shake.

“Good morning, Señor Greer. It’s good to have you back. We have your order.”

I glanced at the delivery truck as Greer gave the man a breathtaking smile. A bolt of pure, possessive jealousy filled my brain. Time to stake my claim.

I rose to my full height and wrapped my arm around his shoulders before I extended my hand. “Hello. I’m Austin Wentworth.”

Rodrigo smiled as he shook my hand. “It’s nice to meet you. If I may say so, it’s nice to see Mr. Greer with a companion.”

Greer smirked up at me, so I pulled him closer, making my point. “I’m actually his fiancé.”

The man’s eyes widened before a grin split his face. “Congratulations! Another wedding to celebrate.”

Greer held up his hand. “Thank you, but we’re not getting married anytime soon,” he chuckled. “Just my niece.”

Rodrigo waved his hand. “What better place to bind yourself to the one you love?”

It was clear Greer was rattled, but there was nothing I loved more than keeping him guessing what I was going to do or say next.

“We should get out of the way so they can unload,” Greer suggested, pulling me by the hand.

When we were out of earshot, I pulled him in for a loud, obnoxious kiss. My boyfriend looked down at his Rolex, then back into my eyes, smiling as he shook his head at me.

He leaned against the refrigerator and tapped his index finger against my lips. “If I didn’t know better, I would say you are jealous.”

I pointed at my chest.

“Me? Jealous?” I scoffed. “Wasn’t that the plan?” I tilted my head to speak in his ear. He really seemed to like it when I did that. “If you want to keep the cougars off your tail, your sexy ass needs to be off the market.”

“That’s just it, Austin. I was never on the market.”

I smiled. “Yeah, well, it’s time we make sure your sister knows that.”

Greer laughed, and it reached his eyes. He was relaxed and nothing I said seemed to bother him. “Is that so?”

“Yes. And don’t be alarmed if I tell some wild stories about us.” I kissed him on the cheek and went to unload the boxes.

His laugh was the best thing I’d ever heard. “I can’t wait.”

CHAPTER 17

GREER

We only had a few hours to ourselves before my family descended on us for the wedding festivities. My younger sister, Katherine, and her family would arrive late this afternoon from Chicago.

After I’d taken a call from one of my attorneys, I found Austin seated outside on the veranda, looking at his phone with a beautiful smile on his face.

“What are you smiling about?” I grinned to myself as I handed him a bottle of water, then sat down across from him on my favorite chaise lounge.

“Dreamboat. He’s so pissed at me.”

“Why? What did you do?” I leaned forward, my elbows propped on my knees.

Austin put his phone on the chair and looked at me.
