Stabbing a piece of meatloaf, I shoved it into my mouth. “I want to take cooking classes,” I said out of the blue.

Patrick turned to look at me. “Really? What brought that on?”

“I wanna be able to cook for us and our kids one day. Simon is a great cook, and so is Declan. Anything you want to learn how to do?”

He hummed and continued to eat his food. “I want to plant a garden. Grow our own vegetables.”

I smiled at him. “Who’s gonna take care of the dog and water the plants when we’re on tour?”

“I think you’re making fun of me, aren’t you?”

“Maybe a little, but it was cute as fuck. I wouldn’t be opposed to a dog.”

Patrick raised a brow at me. “Are we leaving it home alone while you’re on tour?”

“No, we could take it with us. It would be fun. Cooper and Greg take Maggie everywhere. Even when they fly across the country to the Keys.”

He seemed to consider the idea. “True. But Foster doesn’t travel like you do.”

“Foster? You travel just like he does.”

He turned to look at me. “I think I might be done. This was my second concussion, and I don’t want a third one. It’s not worth risking my future health over. I want to live a long and happy life with you.”

I smiled and kissed him on the nose. “Then I think you need to talk to Aidan. Maybe we should stop by there tomorrow after we get back.”

Patrick’s brows furrowed. “Back from where?”

“We’ve got to take care of the car. I have to go back and face it. Plus, I think I have some stuff in the trunk. I’m sure the insurance company is bugging the fuck out of Aidan.”

“And you’ve got to talk tour dates with him as well. But I want to take you away on a trip to someplace we’ve never been before. Just me and you.”

I took the last bite of my food and thought it over. “We’ve never been to England. How about London?”

Patrick smiled. “We could do that. Maybe spend a month traveling around Europe.”

“Spain could be fun. And Greece. Please let’s go to Greece.”

He kissed the side of my face. “Let’s talk to Aidan and see what we’re looking at, time-wise. I’ve also got this cast to deal with. But if we can’t make Europe work, we can always go to Canada. Vancouver, Montreal, or even Toronto.”

My smile almost hurt my face. “I think I’d love that.”

I woke up the next morning with a renewed sense of purpose. We had so many loose ends to take care of and while it might be overwhelming, it gave us a goal. Patrick also had a renewed spirit about him.

“We’re getting shit done today, babe!”

I smirked at him over my cup of coffee. “Yeah, we are. But how are you feeling? Headache?

“Nope. So far, so good.”

He ran his right hand through his hair, his biceps flexing as he stood in front of the refrigerator looking for something. His athletic shorts rode low on his hips as I let my eyes take in the side view of him. Sculpted like a Greek god, just looking at him made me appreciate him even more.

“You’re looking finer than frog hair,” I teased. That was a direct Michael Coleman quote that stirred Adam up every time.

Patrick’s slow turn of the head to look at me was hilarious, and I couldn’t hold back my laughter. His face scrunched as it lit up with his own smile.

“What?”

“I said you’re looking finer than frog hair.”
