“Demon dog?” Savage repeated in a worried tone.

“From Snow Dogs. A husky,” Harper elaborated.

“Ah,” Savage said, sounding relieved. “Did Mommy want that or you, Isla?”

“Mommy. I wanted a little dog, but Mom loves them,” Isla replied.

“Fine. I believe I know how to get Mommy to move in. Want to play in the pool?”

I slipped indoors, walked upstairs, and packed more than enough for a week or two. Who wouldn’t love a man like Savage?

“You were listening,” I said, nuzzling Grace’s sensitive throat. She moaned softly and pressed against me.

“And?” she murmured as she wriggled her ass against my groin.

“You’re all in. Same as me.”

“When you get me that husky.”

“You can have the puppy, Grace, but it doesn’t sleep on the bed.”

Grace pouted. “But she’ll be tiny and need cuddles.”

“Not on the bed,” I stated firmly, and Grace giggled. I loved that sound.

“We’ll negotiate,” Grace said, spinning in my lap to claim my mouth.

Grace might think that, but this was our bed, and we weren’t sharing it. And that was that!

Chapter Eleven.

Savage

A week later, I was walking down the street with Harper and Isla when several vans pulled up outside my house. Grabbing the girl’s hands, I dragged them into the shadows and watched as numerous reporters climbed out. They stormed towards my home and banged on the front door. Luckily, Grace wasn’t in. She was working her notice for Bernard’s.

“Savage, what’s going on?” Isla said, sounding frightened.

“I’ve no clue,” I replied. Shit, I needed to get the girls to safety. However, my truck was in the driveway, and I’d have to push past reporters to reach it. As we watched another couple of trucks get out, this time, the reports carried cameras.

“Shit,” I muttered.

I froze when a reporter noticed us hiding in the shadows.

“Over there!” he called to a cameraman, and they began hurrying towards us.

I got ready to grab the kids and run when a Ford Ranger slammed to a stop beside us.

“Get in!” Nancy bellowed through the open window. I hurried across, shoved the girls in, slammed their door, then I joined Nancy in the front.

Nancy spun wheels just as the media reached us, flipped them the middle finger, and shot off.

“Are you tall enough to drive this?” I asked as I looked behind us.

“Would you like to get out and walk?”

“Not really.”
