Fiona and Lady Agaiby followed Dr. Hunt to Daniel’s room. The walk felt rather long. Fiona was dying to see Daniel. She wanted to hold his hand and just be at his side. She was just so grateful that he was still alive and the doctor had managed to repair the damaged nerves.

“Daniel!” his grandmother breathed as soon as she walked into the room. She quickly rushed to his side.

“Grandma.” His voice was groggy. Lady Agaiby kissed his forehead. Fiona also went to his side. He smiled as soon as he saw her and immediately held her hand.

“We were able to repair the damaged nerves but we have to conduct a few simple tests to see if the surgery has worked,” said Dr. Hunt.

“Go ahead,” said Daniel. The doctor uncovered his feet and ran his pen up and down his feet.

“Can you feel that?” Dr. Hunt asked Daniel.

“Yes, I can. I can feel it!” Daniel sounded so excited. Fiona and Lady Agaiby both started smiling.

“Can you wiggle your toes?”

Fiona and Lady Agaiby quickly stared at his feet and waited. It took a few seconds before Daniel actually moved his toes. Lady Agaiby and Fiona cried out joyfully.

“They’re moving!” Fiona yelled out. Dr. Hunt smiled.

“You will need to do all the exercises with Dr. Mahone. He is a very good physiotherapist. It may take some time but I am confident that you will be able to walk,” he said.

“Thank you so much,” said Lady Agaiby. Her eyes welled up with tears. “I am so grateful.”

“You are welcome,” Dr. Hunt replied.

“I never thought my situation would ever change, thank you so much, Dr. Hunt,” Daniel said to him.

“My pleasure.”

Fiona rushed out of the elevator and headed to Daniel’s suite. They had stayed in Baltimore for a month while Daniel got his physiotherapy. They had been working very hard to get him to walk again. Daniel’s health had improved but he still wasn’t able to walk.

Daniel had been so sweet and sent Fiona to the Bronx. Since they were in America, he thought it was a good idea for her to go visit her family. She went to stay with her family for the weekend. She had missed them so much and seeing them was so great. She even told them all about her relationship with Daniel. Her mother was happy for her that she was finally in a relationship since her last one had ended badly. Her brother had laughed. He found it hard to believe that his sister was actually in a relationship with a prince.

Fiona swiped the hotel key and walked into their presidential suite. She gasped when she saw red rose petals. They were leading to Fiona’s bedroom. “Daniel!” she called out but there was no response. She put her bag down and followed the petals all the way to her bedroom.

“Daniel, what is going on?” Fiona asked as she paused in the doorway of her bedroom. The room was filled with lit candles and rose petals. Daniel was sitting on the bed. He rose to his feet when Fiona walked in. He was wearing a suit.

“Hey,” he said.

“Hi.” Fiona smiled. Daniel took a step towards her. “Oh my God!” Fiona screamed.

“I’m walking!”

“Yes you are! Oh, I cannot believe it.” Fiona felt so emotional seeing Daniel walking towards her.

“I could have never done it without you. You have been at my side and never left me.” Daniel stopped in front of her. He slowly dropped to one knee. He had to hold on to the door to support himself but he was able to get down on one knee.

“What are you doing?” she asked him.

“I heard that women like these kinds of romantic gestures,” he said with a smile. Fiona burst into laughter.

“Did you?”

“You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Can you please continue to stay by my side?” Daniel fished a red velvet box out of his pocket. “Fiona, I love you and I need you. Will you marry me?” he asked. Fiona gasped.

“Yes!” she cried without even taking a second thought. She dropped down to her knees and kissed Daniel. “Of course I will marry you,” she said to him.

“You have just made me the happiest man alive,” he said and kissed her again.
