“You should bow when you address me.”
Fiona stared at him with a blank facial expression and blinked a few times. She did not feel like bowing to him especially because he was abrupt and hard to please. “Sure. Is there anything else I could do for you?” she asked.
“No, just bow deeply,” he said.
“What do you want to do today?”
“There is a doctor coming soon. So just let me know when he arrives.”
“A doctor? Are you okay?” Fiona was trying to avoid looking at his bare chest. It was quite distracting.
“It’s for a check-up. Why are you overreacting?”He frowned at her.
“Oh.” Fiona looked at the guitar. “Do you play?”
“Why else would I have it?” Daniel wheeled himself over the bed. Fiona noticed him getting ready to heave himself onto the bed. She rushed over to help him. He groaned when she snaked her arm around his waist. “I thought I told you not to touch me,” he complained. Fiona felt her stomach knot up. His body was as hard as rock, and yet his skin was as smooth as butter.
“On three,” she ignored him. “One, two, three,” she helped him off the wheelchair and onto the bed. Fiona felt a little bit uncomfortable being so close to his nearly naked body. She had never been that close to a naked man. She could feel her cheeks turning red. She quickly released him from her embrace and headed for the exit.
