“Yes.”

She eyed the bruise on his cheek. “Does that hurt?” she asked him.

“No,” he replied.

“Do you have any idea of who is trying to harm you?”

“What you did was reckless,” he said.

“I know,” Emma replied.

“What were you thinking?”

“I wasn’t. I just saw you in danger and I just reacted.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I’m glad you’re okay. How is your bodyguard?”

“He’s fine. Don’t ever do anything like that again.”

“I would do the same thing all over again,” she replied. Kiro raised his eyebrows. So not only was she talkative, clumsy and reckless; she was also stubborn.

“Excuse me?” said Kiro. That wasn’t the answer that he was expecting to hear from her. Usually when he issued an order, he expected a “yes sheikh.” No one said no to him.

“I don’t regret what I did. I am sure anyone else would have done the same thing in that situation,” she said. Kiro raised his eyebrows.

“No, they would not,” he said.

Emma shrugged her shoulders. “Maybe but that’s what I did. There is no changing it now,” she replied. Kiro shook his head before he walked off. She was an impressive woman. He had never met anyone as fearless as she was. She had put her life on the line to save his, and she wasn’t regretting it.
