Emma typed his surname and no matches came up. “I’m sorry, sir. Your name didn’t come up,” she said.

“That is because I do not work here.”

Emma raised an eyebrow. He could have told her that the first time she had asked him. “So are you here to see someone?” she asked him.

“Kiro,” he said.

“You are here to see the sheikh? Do you have an appointment?”

“I don’t need one.”

Emma was starting to get annoyed with this Raphael person. He was telling her bits of information at a time. She stared at him with her eyebrows crossed. Raphael smiled at her.

“I am his cousin,” he said. Emma wasn’t sure if she could believe him. Before she could say anything, she heard Dania’s voice.

“Mr. Tafwiq!” Dania called out as she rushed out of the elevator and headed towards the gate. Emma turned to look at Dania.

“Hi Dania,” he said. Dania pulled out her access card and swiped it. The gate opened and Raphael walked in.

“Emma, this is the sheikh’s cousin.”

Raphael grinned at Emma as if to say I told you so. “Mr. Tafwiq, it’s nice to meet you,” she said.

“You too Emma. See you around,” said Raphael. He headed for the elevator. Emma looked at Dania.

“I almost didn’t let him in,” she said. “Well, I didn’t let him in. You showed up at the right time.”

“It’s okay, you didn’t know.” Dania handed her a memory stick. “Go into folder 2B and print out the reports.”

“Okay.” Emma n0dded before she returned to her desk. She thought her new position was going to be a boring one. She thought to herself she had three-hour shifts, not much could possibly happen within three hours. Yet in all three days she had awkward run-ins with the sheikh and now she had an awkward first meeting with his cousin.
