Strike didn’t allow that retreat. He caged her between his bulging biceps, and he poured more of his essence into her.

She clenched and unclenched around his cock. That intensified the sensual bombardment. Rapture flared with a breath-stealing ferventness inside her, over her, all around her.

Her brain spun. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She ached with extreme elation.

Strike became still. He remained braced above her. That limited her motion as she gyrated. Some of his systems were down, but her cyborg continued to protect her from harm.

And she loved him for that, for everything he did and was.

Heartbeats passed. The frantic need to move passed.

She sagged against the sleeping support. Her arms and legs felt like they’d been liquified. She could no longer lift them.

“Fates.” She nuzzled against his chest. He tasted of metal and male and the salt of her sweat. “I love you.”

“I love you too, my female.” Strike rolled onto his back, not breaking their embrace.

She landed on top of his huge form.

His chest rose and fell under her. His warmth soothed her.

He rubbed his hands over her back, massaging her well-used muscles.

A peacefulness fell upon Kesser.

Her state matched that of her home planet and of Powlus Zetus. Talley’s father, when confronted by Kesser’s mom, had resigned from his role. Strike was monitoring his activities, and thus far, nothing the male had done invited suspicion.

Cure and Drift, her cyborg’s brethren, were en route to Cancri B. Her cyborg was assisting with the planning of that mission.

Setting strategy and defining tactics were the parts of assignments he enjoyed the most. And he excelled at them. Pride expanded Kesser’s chest. He was already considered essential to the ongoing security of Syndiculous 5. The improvements he’d made had impressed all the ministers.

The First Zetus had heard about them and was trying to talk Strike into working on Powlus Zetus’s security also.

And the Powluk warriors situated at Tsicariuk Plains communicated with him regularly regarding their stealth-training programs.

Her male was in demand. But he always brought her with him to every meeting, and he included her in every project. And she never wondered if she was his priority.

He had proven she was his focus again and again.

She gazed up at him.

He was smiling. Her cyborg did that a lot lately.

Her lips curled upward. “I could stay with you like this forever.”

“That’s not feasible, my female.” His eyes glinted with humor. “But we can stay like this for a few more heartbeats.”

A few heartbeats were better than nothing, but it wasn’t long enough.

“I wish we had more time than that.” She sighed. “But my mom has to be present for that land-transport-design competition at the academy.”

She tracked all three of their schedules now.

Her cyborg nodded. “That occurs in a tenth of a shift.”

The land-transport-design competition wasn’t the first event scheduled.

Strike, Kesser, and her mom ate nourishment together at sunrise and at sunset every planet rotation.
