That meant they were, almost certainly, planning to take Talley and Tsadok to their home planet.

Once The Guidance was over, it would be difficult for them to hide on Syndiculous 5. Their appearance would make them extremely noticeable.

Syndiculs were still suspicious of Powluks. Someone would report their presence to authorities.

If Kesser was to rescue her friend and the Second Zetus, she would need a ship. She gazed around her.

Stealing one was an option. But she also needed help. She didn’t know much about planning a rescue mission.

Her gaze rested on a being clad in a black cloak. They were the tallest individual she had ever encountered. The being made Tsadok look tiny.

Tsadok…

Talley had mentioned a guard. She’d said he was huge.

A guard charged with protecting his planet’s future ruler would want to be part of an operation to rescue that male. He’d want to do that quietly. And he might be skilled in that type of mission.

He’d also have access to Tsadok’s ship.

Kesser didn’t know the guard. At all. They’d never met. She didn’t even know his name.

But Fates. She had no other options.

And every moment she hesitated put Talley in more danger.

Her friend must be so scared. Kesser’s stomach churned.

They’d gotten into trouble in the past. None of those incidents compared to the peril they faced now.

She had to save her friend.

That would be easier to accomplish with the guard’s assistance. Kesser squared her shoulders, gathered her confidence, and approached him.

He braced his booted feet apart, widening his stance. His boots were as huge as the rest of him was. They were black, perfectly polished, and looked like something a military male—or a guard—might wear.

As Kesser neared him, her nipples tightened and her pussy grew wet. She didn’t know why her body reacted to the guard, but it had chosen a terrible time to express interest in another being.

She stopped in front of him and tilted her head upward. “They’ve been abducted.” Aware beings might be listening to them, she didn’t state who the they were. There was no need to do that. The male should know who she was referring to. “We need to rescue them. Do you have access to a ship?”

“I have access to a ship.” The guard’s low growly voice coiled around her, setting fire to a passion fiercer than any she’d ever experienced.

Her friend was in danger, and she wanted to fuck the male senseless. Fates. Kesser pressed her lips together. She was a terrible being.

“What’s our destination?” A delicious heat also radiated from him.

“I’ll tell you that once we reach the ship.” Mentioning Powlus Zetus might get a reaction from the beings around them. “We have to leave now. With every passing moment, they’ll become more difficult to track.”

“We’ll travel faster if I carry you.” He reached out to her.

His hands were massive, and they were covered with black leather.

She resisted the impulse to clasp them. “It won’t be faster. I’m a large female.”

“You’re a tiny female.” Humor wrapped around his words.

Compared to him, she was tiny, she supposed.

“This will be faster,” he insisted.
