“Go, Adriana. You and Beatrice go to Daniel; he’ll make sure you’re both safe. He should be by the car at the front of the building.”

“Beatrice," she looks past me towards her sister.

“Poppy,” I breathe, turning to face her. She moves away from me before I can grip her lower jaw.

“He was going to kill her, Ale. I thought…” she trails off like she can't even imagine losing her sister.

It makes me want to see Aldo beg for his life even more.

Adriana keeps the gun pointed at Aldo as I turn to see him struggling to his feet. About time. I want to beat the hell out of his fucking old body and make him suffer before I kill him.

I see him bring out a pocketknife from his pocket as he stands to his feet.

“Go, Adriana.”

“Take the gun, Alessandro.”

“I don’t need it to kill this cunt. Run to Daniel, Adriana. I’ll be back.”

She ignores my words and slips the gun into my hand. “Kill him,” she whispers in my ear.

Aldo pokes the pocketknife in the air as he moves slowly to meet me.

Adriana grabs Beatrice and I watch them leaving us, through the corner of my eye, before I punch him hard in the face and he falls to the ground.

I feel myself dying—bleeding to death.

But I know one thing, I’m not stopping till I take Aldo to hell.

Chapter thirty-four

Adriana

I leave Ale with Aldo in search of Daniel. He’ll help me keep Beatrice safe.

I’m running as fast as I can, pulling Beatrice with me, to find Daniel by the front yard of the building. The noise has reduced as I reach there to meet several bodies on the ground. I spot Daniel punching a man before ending him with a bullet to his chest.

“Daniel! Daniel!” I yell breathlessly as I run to him.

He stops to stare at me and pushes the body in his grip to the floor.

As I run to close the distance between us, the entire building comes to the ground. Every fucking thing, in flames.

Daniel is quick enough to move before a large piece of wood hits him. My eyes widen with shock and disbelief. He grabs me from falling, shocked at the scene before me.

I watch as the woods pile on one another, the entire building destroyed in a blink of an eye. My heart clings tightly.

“I have to go back to Ale, Daniel. I need to save Ale.” Fresh tears stream down my eyes as I am overwhelmed by the whole situation.

“Adriana, stop.”

I wish Daniel would let me go but he doesn’t budge. I keep pulling, fighting his grip as I cry harder. But he doesn't let me go and Beatrice tries to talk me down.

“Daniel, please. We need to help him.”

“Adriana, please,” Daniel says as he pulls me to his chest.

I hit his chest repeatedly to get him to let go of me. He is stupidly stronger than I am and I fall helplessly in his arms, crying my eyes out. I can’t breathe.
