Ty smiles. “Turn things into ice?”

“Yes.” My voice is no louder than a whisper.

“With training, yes.”

“Could my father do that?”

“Most definitely.” Ty is still standing directly in front of me, the heat radiating from his body in stark contrast with the ice behind my back.

“Why are you so hot?”

He smirks, showing the dimples. “You think I’m hot?”

“I can feel it from here,” I answer, ignoring his innuendo.

“Because I produced the ice. Producing ice causes me to overheat.”

“This is true, isn’t it?”

“Yes,” he answers, glancing between my eyes and mouth. The heat radiating from him, combined with how he looks in sweatpants is almost more than I can handle, and I wonder what his lips would feel like on mine.

I smile in return, all the while chastising myself for even considering allowing Ty to touch me. “Why do I feel connected to you?”

“It’s the blood.”

He takes my hand into his, and the warmth of his body radiates over to me. In the instant it takes the heat to arrive, the room disappears, and I’m swept to another time and another place. I’m standing on the edge of a cliff, overlooking crystal-clear water miles below. Looking down, I see that I’m wearing a dress made of blue crystals. The same crystals as the stone I keep protected in my penthouse. I turn, finding Ty next to me. He’s wearing a suit the same color as my dress. His hair is loose and blowing in the wind.

“Make it snow, my queen,” he says, motioning in front of us.

I don’t question his words, instead, with nothing more than a swish of my hand, snow begins raining below, covering the surface with a layer of powder.

“That’s my girl.” He turns, cupping my cheek with his large hand, and lowers his lips to mine. The kiss is short and sweet but leaves me longing for more.

“Thank you, my love.” My eyes open, and I’m returned to the now familiar apartment. I step back, not sure what just happened.

Ty smiles, flashing his dimples. “That’s my girl.”

“Did you…did you just have the same delusion I did?”

“It wasn’t a delusion, Piper. Your powers are already growing.”

“How? I haven’t done anything.”

He nods toward the window. “Look outside.”

I follow his line of sight, finding white flakes flying through the air. “It’s snowing,” I whisper.

“You did that.”

“It’s January in Norway. Snow is an everyday occurrence. How would I have done that?”

“You may not have any of the memories or practice, but the blood knows and begs to be released.”

I stare at Ty. “I don’t know what that means.”

“It means you can control the weather with nothing more than a thought.”

“So, I’m basically a Disney princess?”
