“Who?” Bowen asked.

“All of you. It’s just a normal checkup. There’s nothing wrong with me.”

“We know,” Gentry said. “In theory, at least.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Don’t rile them up.”

“I’m not trying to. I’m just saying Korren does these checks for a reason. It could be nothing, but there’s always a possibility of something.”

I groaned. “Positive thoughts, do you hear me? I’m not wasting our day off in a bubble because you’re afraid something will happen.”

My mates were some of the most overprotective, overthinking males I’d ever met.

Gentry held up his hands. “I won’t say another word.”

Korren walked in, and all my mates snapped to attention.

“Good news. Your test results came back, and everything looks great. You’re in perfect health, but I’ll have to see you on a regular basis from now on.”

Theron’s face dropped. “If she’s fine, why does she need to see you?”

Bowen stood and came to my side as if preparing to protect me.

“Congratulations, Myla. You’ll welcome your first pup into your den in about four months.”

The room was silent.

We hadn’t spoken much about pups. Sure, there was passing mention of them, but never anything notable.

I looked at my mates’ careful expressions and realized they were waiting for me to react.

“We’re going to be parents,” I said in a hushed voice.

Awe and happiness ballooned within me and poured down our bond.

I was in Bowen’s arms before I could process what was happening. Theron, Silas, and Gentry were right behind him.

I felt their delight in my chest, followed closely by a surge of protectiveness. We weren’t just becoming a family—we were making one.

We were enough for each other—would fight for each other—and that was all that mattered.

Chapter 30

Gentry

The pack held its breath as Isolde went into labor. Her son would be the first of many pups that would soon call Hidden Creek their home. We all congregated outside the medical building, waiting for the good news. The Alpha unit and Isolde had been inside for two hours already, and packmates were growing anxious.

My unit sat next to Brielle—who was cradling her swollen stomach—and her mates.

“Whose seed do you think conquered her womb first?” Brielle asked Myla.

Myla’s face reddened as she held in a laugh.

“Goddess, Brielle. You’re not allowed to hang out with the guys at the shop anymore. You’re starting to sound more and more like them,” Theron joked.

“I will not be restricted from my share of low-value entertainment,” she quipped. “So, who do you have your money on?”

“My bet is on Alaric,” Bowen said shamelessly. “The commander has some serious stress to work off, and I bet he found the perfect place to do it. Plus, have you seen his stamina?”
