The sight alone took my breath away and my mind once again appreciated the wealth of my marriage into the Wolkov family.

But as night fell and exhaustion overcame me, a wave of loneliness spread. I couldn't help but think how much I would miss Nikolai while he was away for work.

The vastness of the estate increased the emptiness that his absence would leave behind. With his name on my lips, I closed my eyes and thought of the days when we could spend time together undisturbed.

Chapter 16 - Nikolai

My eyes were fixed on the exit as I sat in the meeting, my thoughts revolving around Ashley. I couldn’t believe I was feeling like this. I felt like I was going crazy the longer I sat there, and the more seconds passed without her.

The meeting dragged on and my anger at everyone present grew because I could only think of her. After a little sideswipe at one of the partners, I finally hurried home to my wife.

When I walked in, I noticed that most of the lights were out. I wondered if Ashley was already asleep. But then I heard it—soft music from the kitchen.

I made my way to the source of the music and there she was. She was dancing and grooving to girlish sounds as she prepared a meal, completely absorbed in the moment. I couldn’t help but chuckle as I watched her humming the lyrics in her beautiful voice.

Her golden blonde curls bounced around her perfect face as she moved, but they weren’t the only thing bouncing.

She was wearing comfortable jogging pants that did her ass, justice and her perky, now much fuller breasts bounced with her every move in the skimpy satin top she was wearing, making my cock bulge in response.

I stood there and could not tear my eyes away from her. I watched as she moved seductively back and forth, somehow still presenting the perfect picture of grace and elegance.

She was so fucking beautiful. As she placed a hand on her tiny belly and shimmied through the kitchen, it dawned on me that she would soon be a mother. We were going to be a family. Ashley was beaming and I was in awe as I continued to enjoy the show. Being around her made me feel alive. It was as if I discovered a whole new world of feelings; she so easily brought a lightness into my life that I had never experienced before. And to my surprise, I loved every minute of it.

As I continued to stand there, captivated by the existence of my wife, I was enveloped by a heavy feeling.

It felt … warm.

I had never felt anything like it before. The music filled the room and created an atmosphere that made this feeling swell and confused my mind even more.

Whatever it was, I was not yet ready to face it. In my desperation to distract myself from these emotions, I finally decided to turn to my wife and felt a witty remark forming on my lips.

“Well, well, looks like someone's got some serious dance moves. You never told me you had a passion for the arts, malyskha.”

My unexpected remark surprised her, and she yelped in surprise. When she turned around, she made a startled face, but when she realized it was me, her expression became relieved.

A blush crept up her cheeks and her eyes darted away from me to the floor. My grin widened as I watched her.

“I … I didn’t know you were back …”

“Oh, I was just enjoying the show,” I chuckled, wagging my finger at her. “I was surprised that you were so engrossed in your performance that you didn’t notice me. You should never show yourself so unprepared and vulnerable, Ashley.”

I took a step closer, enjoying the way she got flustered. “You need to be more cautious. Not just for your sake, but for the child’s as well.”

She nodded, her guilty demeanor letting me know that she had considered my words well and would do better next time.

“Why are you dancing out here in the kitchen? There’s plenty of room to dance in the living room,” I teased her again, my voice tinged with mirth. “Unless you did it on purpose, hoping I’d catch you doing it.”

“What? No-”

“If you wanted to show me your skills, you should have just said so, malyshka, no need to hide.” I interrupted her and beamed at her because she looked like a ripe tomato.

Her cheeks flushed even more, and with a shy smile, she confessed, “I didn't know if you had dinner, but I still made some extra just in case.”

I was touched by the gesture. “My malyshka,” I said, and my voice was full of appreciation despite the teasing. “I’ve never come home to a woman who's cooked for me, how did you know I could cross that off my list?”

“Nikolai …” She rolled her eyes and smiled.

When we sat down to dinner, I took a bite of the food she had prepared. It was so delicious that I couldn't help but praise her. “This is incredible, Ashley.” A playful glint shone in my eyes as I smiled at her. “Perhaps we should get rid of the chefs and let you take over.”
