“Can you drive? It is your car, after all.”

Eli’s lips turn up in a knowing smirk. “Nice try, baby. It’s your car, and Marc told me you haven’t driven since the accident. I think it’s time, Logan.”

“What if I’m not ready?”

“You’re ready. I’m with you this time. You got this. And by the way, this dress.” He leans back, eyeing me up and down, impressed. “Killing me.”

He leans in to sweetly kiss my forehead before opening the driver’s side door. As I turn around to climb inside, Eli being Eli, not so sweetly, slaps my ass.

“I’m back, baby!” he playfully shouts before closing the door behind me.

Chapter 54

Eli

Slipping off this monstrosity of a graduation gown, I round Logan’s Jeep and hop in the passenger side, buckling my seatbelt and turning back to look at my girl. She looks fucking flawless in that innocent blue dress, perfectly contrasted by the way it hugs her tits and clings to her ass. I’m pretty sure I got a semi as soon as I saw her, which is no surprise at all. She’s stunning, absolutely stunning, and I’ve missed everything about her.

I missed her red hair that shines in the sun, her golden skin that smells like vanilla, her dimples that light me up whenever they appear. I missed it all.

But I can tell she’s a little hesitant from my lack of communication since I’ve been gone, which isn’t all that shocking. We spoke enough to remind each other that we love one another and filled each other in on important things, like Logan getting her cast off this week, but we’re usually so in sync with our communication that I know she’s wondering why it’s been lacking. But I’ll tell her everything, and she’ll understand. She’ll realize that it was all for her. For us.

I snake my palm onto her thigh, needing to touch her as I always do, and when Logan starts up her new Jeep, I’m pretty sure that semi in my pants grows into a full-blown pitched tent situation.

But how could you blame me? She looks like a literal angel in this badass car. Not to mention that I haven’t had sex in fifty-two days.

But who’s counting?

Her hand trembles just slightly on the gear shift as she puts her car in reverse, reminding me that she’s scared.

“Logan, do you need me to?” I place my hand over hers to steady it.

Her pretty green eyes pour into mine as I watch the fear dissipate. “No, I got this,” she states confidently.

Hell yeah, she does. That’s my girl.

I keep my hand on her leg as she cautiously drives, my eyes glued to her the entire time. I haven’t seen her face in six weeks, and the image I have in front of me is finally replacing the one I have of her from after the accident.

“What are you staring at?” She wears an amused grin, her eyes staying locked on the road ahead.

“You.”

No use lying. It’s pretty obvious.

A satisfied smile pulls at her lips, but a few minutes into our drive, Logan asks, “Eli, are we okay?”

My brows furrow at her words. “Of course, we are.”

“Okay,” she says, her eyes straight ahead.

I need to explain everything to her. I was going to wait until we were at the house, but it’s time. “Pull over.”

“What?”

“Pull over,” I repeat as I look around the small dirt road, no other cars in sight.

Logan pulls off to the side, getting her Jeep off the road and out of the way, just in case. But we haven’t seen another car the whole time we’ve been on this back-road. My parents’ house is one of the only ones out here by the lake, and the rest of our group is already ahead of us.

“Come here,” I tell my girl as she puts her car in park and kills the engine.
