Blitz Office
“Hey,” Vikram, Maya’s boss, entered her cabin.
“Hi,” she greeted him back.
“Our MD was impressed with the way you handled Motwani. What exactly happened that he even apologized to the models? He’s turned decent ever since you met him.”
Maya swallowed hard. She couldn't explain what happened exactly because she had no clue how Vikram or his boss would take it if they found out Ranveer Malhotra slapped Motwani, intruding on their meeting.
“I'm glad he is abiding by the contract terms now, and our models are okay to shoot for him. That’s enough, isn’t it?” she tried to redirect the discussion.
“Of course,” he nodded.
Maya realized he had more questions for her. That’s why he wasn’t moving out.
“Who is that woman downstairs? In the black dress.”
Maya knew someone from her workplace would eventually ask her about this.
“Aisha.”
“Okay. But who is she, if I may ask?”
Maya became uncomfortable.
“She is my bodyguard.”
Vikram’s eyes darted in surprise.
“Oh.” He was still absorbing what he heard.
Maya decided to explain it further before he started making his own assumptions.
“Ranveer wanted me to have one. You know how it is. He is powerful, and people like him have threats.”
“Yeah, yeah. I get it. And you are his girlfriend, so obviously, he will want you safe.”
Maya faked a smile.
“Well,” Vikram got up from the chair. “I hope you are not planning to leave Blitz anytime soon.”
“Why would I quit my job?” Maya asked him, confused.
“Because Ranveer might ask you to. He is our sponsor, and he might not like it, you know, his girlfriend working for the same company. Or you might think of joining Malhotra Group someday.”
Maya rolled her eyes.
“Vikram, that’s not going to happen.”
“I hope so. We are really lucky to have you here, and we do intend to work with you longer.”
Maya knew that. Blitz had always seen her potential and valued her. Vikram headed out, letting her continue her work. But Maya got into thinking mode. The whole office knew she was dating Ranveer Malhotra. She was fortunate that no one among them had ever mocked her about this. But what would happen when it came to an end? She would become the talk of the town. And as far as Ranveer’s reputation with women was concerned, she wouldn’t have a good image after their so-called breakup. It was sad that even after knowing the consequences, she couldn't stop any of this from happening.

Maya came down from her office, having finished her work for the day. Aisha followed her out to the parking lot, keeping a watchful eye as always. Ranveer Malhotra still hadn't apologized for his behavior or given Maya any new instructions on what to do next. His uncharacteristic silence left Maya puzzled. What was going on in that manipulative mind of his, this time?
