“Yes, Sir.”

Laura left, and Ranveer strode to Maya and held her hand.

“You need to hide.”

“What? Why?”

He dragged her inside one of the rooms which was equally large and spacious.

“This is not the right time to disclose our fake relationship. That’s not how I decided it to be,” he muttered, leaving her arm. “Stay here until I myself come to take you out. Am I clear?”

Maya nodded, which he took as an assurance and headed out of the room to welcome his brother.

A tall, handsome man, a few years younger than Ranveer Malhotra, entered the house, scanning every bit of this place as if looking for someone.

“Dhruv, I am here,” Ranveer exclaimed.

“Bro,” Dhruv stretched his arms and hugged Ranveer tight. “So nice to see you, man. I missed you.”

Ranveer pulled back from him and offered him the champagne.

“Thanks,” Dhruv sipped the drink and scanned around again. “I just heard from your receptionist downstairs that some beautiful woman has paid a visit here. New girlfriend? Where is she?”

Ranveer pursed his lips.

“She is inside,” he replied.

Dhruv gave a sardonic expression to him.

“I should have known. That’s why you are in a robe. Shit! I came here at the wrong timing,” he cursed himself. “Can I see her?”

“Nope,” Ranveer blocked Dhruv before he could start looking for Maya.

“That’s quite possessive of you. I am sure the woman is very lucky. But tell me one thing, Bro. Anything serious or is it just another fling?”

Ranveer dragged him to the couch where they could sit and talk.

“She was a fling so far but we are getting serious now.”

“Damn you,” Dhruv jumped on the couch. “I should meet her then.”

“You would, but not tonight.”

“Then when?”

“At our father's birthday party,” Ranveer responded, patting Dhruv’s arm.

“That's why I'm here. I came to invite you for the same. I hope you don’t miss it this time. It is his 50th birthday, Bro. It is special,” Dhruv added.

An evil grimace spread across Ranveer's face. He couldn't wait to introduce Maya to his family during his father's birthday. That's when the real show would begin.

“Anyway, I have to go. I have a few more invites to circulate.” He got up. “Someone is already waiting for you inside. So, please carry on,” he added.

“See you at the party.”

Ranveer walked with Dhruv to the private elevator.

“Yes, see you there. And please pass the invite to her as well. We're all dying to see her now.”
