‘You handled the walk well, just one thing was missing - your smile! However, I won't be deducting your price for that, as not everyone out here is worthy of seeing it, except for me.’

A strange feeling washed over Maya. Was this for her? Who had sent it? She had received many flirty bouquets and cards before, but this was different. It wasn't flirting; it was possessive. Maya placed the note back and opened the door of the changing room. Deep was nearby, talking to a model. He had been there earlier when she entered the changing room. He must have known.

“Deep,” Maya called out. Deep excused himself from the model and approached her.

“Maya, well done. What an attitude you displayed. Everyone is praising you. I think you should quit this job and pursue modeling seriously.”

Maya brushed off his compliments.

“Who was in the changing room before me? There's a bouquet inside,” she asked.

“Oh yes, that's for you. Our sponsor was impressed by your walk. He sent the flowers through his manager. You should meet him.”

Maya felt a lump in her throat. When she took on this project, the sponsor's identity didn't matter. All she knew was that she needed to arrange the models from Blitz for this event. However, throughout her work on the project, she had heard stories about the sponsor's diva-like behavior, flamboyant attitude, and short temper, including from Roshni Kundra. Yet, she didn't know his name and had no desire to know it now.

“I'm not interested in meeting him, Deep.”

“Why not? He sent you such beautiful flowers. At least thank him,” Deep insisted.

“I'm not comfortable socializing with people higher up than me. Plus, I have other commitments tonight.”

Deep sighed. “He won't be pleased. Aman, his manager, personally asked me to invite you to the success party. Can't you reschedule your other commitments?”

Maya shook her head and walked out, leaving Deep extremely confused by her reactions.

As each minute passed, Ranveer anxiously looked towards the door of the party hall. Where was she? Why was she taking so long to arrive? It was unusual for him to be so desperate to see someone, as he had never shown such keen interest for a woman before. He was selfish and only cared about himself. But ever since he saw Maya on the ramp, his heart had given him a few wrong signals. This was not his usual behavior, and he wanted to put an end to it. He wanted to meet Maya again and conclude this desperate situation by asking her out for dinner, or perhaps something more, if she didn’t mind.

Ranveer excused himself from the rest of the people as Aman approached him.

“Boss, she's gone.”

“What do you mean, gone? Didn't she receive my bouquet?”

“She received it and read the note, but she left. Deep said she had other commitments and decided not to attend the success party.”

Ranveer gritted his teeth.

“Where is Roshni? Tell her I want to meet her.”

Aman left, leaving Ranveer Malhotra to take a moment to process the fact that after making bold advances towards a woman, she chose to ignore him and not even politely decline. Maya didn't even bother to reply that handwritten note by him.

“Ranveer, you called me?” Roshni happily approached him after receiving the message from Aman.

“What is going on, Roshni?” he scowled out of frustration.

The smile on Roshni's face faded.

“What's wrong? The event was a success.”

“The media wants to take photos of us with all the models, but I just found out that the showstopper is no longer here.”

Roshni swallowed hard, quickly glancing at her assistant Deep, who nodded to confirm the news. Maya Bajaj had left the event.

“Uh, Ranveer. Actually, she's not a model. She works for Blitz, the company that provides us with models for these events.”

“So what, Roshni? How could she be so careless? She was the showstopper today; you know what that means? She was the highlight of the show. And you let her leave? How could you be so neglectful?”
