“This will be at the top of my schedule tomorrow.”

“You liked it?”

“That’s the best gift I got in this decade,” he appraised, earning back a giggle from her.

When she looked out of the window, she realized they were not heading for Paradise.

“We are meeting Mr. Patel; seems he has some information for us.”

“I didn’t want him to meet us in Paradise like usual because Adira is there. Since she is our prime suspect, we decided to meet out,” he added.

Maya plainly nodded. If Adira was really found guilty, Ranveer wouldn’t delay a second to get her arrested. How would her mother react to that news?

****************

The café was not very busy when the three of them met. Martha and Ranveer’s other guards secured the place outside.

“Any clues, Patel?” Ranveer asked the detective, who placed an envelope on the table.

“Mr. Malhotra, as per your instructions, we were keeping a close watch on Adira Bajaj for the past few weeks. And though her routine had not changed much, there is one person she met in the outskirts of the city. And it's suspicious.”

He opened the envelope and showed the first picture of Adira sitting with a woman wearing a cap, in some restaurant.

“My source took these pictures. Adira met this woman here,” Patel stated and showed the next photo. “And do you see this?” he pointed at the pouch which that woman handed from below the table to Adira. “She gave her something secretly.”

“What is that?” Maya snapped.

“We cannot say anything as of now until we check the CCTV footage. I have asked my men to get the footage. I will receive a copy of this any moment now.”

“This doesn’t seem good,” Ranveer observed the photos carefully. “This unknown woman resembles someone…”

“The one driving Adira’s car on the day of my accident,” Maya exclaimed.

Ranveer recalled the previous proofs of the CCTV footage of the signal which Patel found. Adira’s car, which hit Maya’s vehicle, clearly showed a woman wearing a cap driving it, and by the personality, she didn’t seem to be Adira.

“Could be,” Ranveer mentioned. “Adira is connected to this girl somehow. Otherwise, a silly girl like Adira cannot make such huge plans of hurting Maya.”

Patel’s phone buzzed. He received the CCTV footage of the café.

“The video is here.”

He played it for them, and their eyes widened in shock.

“Oh my God. That looks like a gun,” Maya shouted.

Ranveer clenched his jaw. Patel was immediately alert.

“Adira got a gun with her. She is dangerous,” Patel warned.

“She is staying with us in Paradise,” Maya held her palm to her mouth. She was very shocked.

“I don’t think we need to take further chances,” Patel continued.

“You are right,” Ranveer replied. “Get an arrest warrant against Adira. She is already a suspect in the accident, and if she has a gun now, Maya is not safe around her.”

Ranveer got up to leave.

“Wait. I think there has to be another way,” Maya suggested.
