“Just managed,” she shrugged.

They gazed at each other for some more seconds until Ranveer realized he should be frustrated with her. He curved his arms under her knees and pulled her out. His gesture was anything but smooth. He seemed mad and, in a hurry, as he placed her on the bed and then hovered on top of her.

“Ranveer,” she murmured, but he shut her mouth with his palm, his eyes dangerously piercing into hers.

“What did you write in your last clue?” he snapped. “That if I really love you, I would guess where you were.”

Maya swallowed. Yes, she wrote that, despite knowing he would be irked to read it.

“Such foolish games are not going to decide my love for you, Maya” he declared. “Never say such things again to me.”

His warning was more of love, and she couldn’t stop blushing hard.

“Sorry,” she mumbled.

Ranveer gently removed his palm from her mouth and lowered his gaze to see her beyond that angelic face. Maya pulled his chin up.

“So?” she bit her lip. “Did I manage to seduce you?”

Ranveer smirked.

“You did, darling,” he agreed. “The moment the game was on, I was turned on for you.”

He lowered himself and kissed her like she was his last hope to survive.

The sharp sound of the alarm woke Ranveer from his sleep. Alarm clock? Not his forte. He turned back and switched it off before it could wake his beautiful wife who was still in his arms, exhausted and at his mercy. Last night had been extraordinary for the two, where satiating each other’s desires had been their only priority. Why did the sun rise so early? He wished they could spend the entire day and night together, wrapped around each other without any disturbance.

His efforts to shut off the alarm clock didn’t work well, as Maya still woke up the moment she realized it was morning.

“Go back to sleep,” he murmured, kissing her temple.

“No.” She stretched in her sleep, unintentionally tempting her husband again. “I have to go to work.”

“Excuse me?”

She gave him a hopeful smile.

“Wouldn’t my billionaire husband like his wife to work and be independent?”

“That’s why he is a billionaire, isn’t he? So that his wife can spend his money,” he snapped.

“It’s not just about spending or earning money. I love my job.”

Ranveer exhaled and sat on the bed, his back touching the headboard.

“You want to work?” he queried authoritatively. She nodded in desperation. “Fine. But on my terms.”

“I know what those terms are.” She got up. “Not going anywhere without a bodyguard and never making hasty decisions.”

Ranveer smiled back.

“You need to learn to keep things that way until I fix every problem surrounding us.”

“I will. I promise.” She kissed his jaw while he wrapped his arms around her again. They could spend their whole lives in this position, if only everything else around them froze forever.
