Maya nodded giving her approval for him to take this further.

As Ranveer slid off her nightgown, his smoldering gaze raked over Maya's nude form. She flushed under his ardent admiration, unused to such desire in a man's eyes. Unable to resist any longer, he claimed her lips fiercely. His large, skillful hands glided down her body, fingers dancing over sensitive folds. Maya trembled and sighed, arching into his touch.

His deft fingers teased and stroked until she was breathless with need. “Seeing you come undone is the best thing I've witnessed,” Ranveer murmured before kissing her deeply again.

Maya clung to him, nails digging into his shoulders. She had never felt such exquisite torture.

Ranveer settled between her thighs, their bodies flush. Maya welcomed him eagerly, wrapping her legs around his waist. Gazing into each other's eyes, they paused, appreciating this long-awaited intimacy.

Ranveer stroked her hair tenderly. “I've waited so long for this. I can’t believe you’re really mine,” he said hoarsely, emotion cracking his voice.

Maya smiled, pressing a soft kiss to his chest. Her heart swelled. “I've always been yours,” she whispered. She belonged to him utterly, body and soul.

Overcome, Ranveer kissed her with unrestrained passion. Slowly he entered her in one smooth stroke, swallowing her gasp of pleasure. Maya met his thrusts instinctively, the pleasure building inside her. He made love to her with a passionate tenderness that stole her breath away. The world fell away until it was just the two of them, joined in sacred union at last. Their bodies moved together in perfect sync, until their simmering need finally sated as they climaxed, leaving them trembling and spent. Ranveer rolled to his side, gathering Maya close. She cuddled against him, exhausted but blissful.

The obstacles that had kept them apart melted away in the glow of their strengthened bond. At last, they had come together as man and wife, erasing all doubts between them. Maya had never felt more loved or cherished than in this moment with Ranveer and there was so much more to come. This night was theirs, and theirs alone.

Time passed unnoticed in their lovemaking until the early hours of morning arrived, casting the first rays of sunlight into their room. She raised her head to look at him, and he met her gaze. It seemed she wanted to say something. Apart from uttering his name, she hadn’t said much in the last few hours. She deserved to speak—at least now.

“Speak, sweetheart,” he encouraged, kissing her temple.

She pouted. “You won’t freak out?”

“Depends,” he replied, raising his eyebrows.

She offered him her best smile before drawing closer to him. “I think I’ve fallen in love with you, Ranveer Malhotra.”

She didn’t need to confess that; he already knew. But he was glad she still had the courage to face this emotion.

“I’m in love with you,” she repeated.

“The entire me?” he questioned.

“Yes, the entire you.”

He kissed her again. “That’s it? You won’t say the same to me?” she groaned after they pulled apart.

Ranveer shook his head. “I don’t fall in love with dumb women.”

Her jaw dropped. Did he just call her dumb?

“Dumb? I am dumb?”

She attempted to hit him with a pillow, but he caught it, moved it aside, and then, grabbing her arm, pulled his wife back to him.

“I love you, Maya Malhotra. I love you too. But the feeling I have for you is more than this four-letter word. I want you to know that.”

“I know,” she murmured softly, laying her head on his chest. This was her rightful place. They both drifted into a peaceful sleep thereafter.

Chapter 60

Next Morning

“Good morning, Mumma. It is so nice to see you in the kitchen again.” Maya hugged her.

“Was that a taunt?” Garima teased.

Maya giggled. “Not exactly. But you know I missed cooking with you.”
