“Why are you repeating all that I know? Say something that can soothe the pain.”

Dhruv laughed.

“You are always in a hurry for results, aren’t you? But this is a matter of love and relationships. You have to be patient because the fruits of patience are never sour. Have you apologized to her?”

Ranveer nodded.

“Yes.”

“Okay. That’s the first step for correcting your past. Now forget the rest; I will handle it.”

Ranveer gulped down the entire wine.

“Can’t I expedite this process for speedy results?”

“Nope. There is no shortcut for this.”

“Damn it.” He threw the glass away.

“Relax. You just need to attend love classes, Bro.”

“Love classes?”

“Yes. Tutored by Dhruv Malik,” he winked.

Ranveer grinned because he knew in the whole world if there was anyone who could give him tips on this, it was his brother.

Night

Maya rested on her mother’s lap, reflecting on the past two days she had spent with Ranveer in Jaipur. He had started to unveil his secrets because he wanted their relationship to work. It must not have been easy for Ranveer to share what Adira feels for him, considering she is her step-sister. He hadn’t told her all of this so far, not because he wanted her to remain in the dark, but because he was afraid she would jeopardize their present status to avoid further clashes with her step-sister. She wished she could have asked him more questions, personal ones, to know him better. Not that she wouldn’t. She would continue until she was fully satisfied that he deserved a chance to build a relationship with her.

But what about all those times when he had ruined her name, fame, and career, which demoralized her for months? Would she forget it all just like that?

“What are you thinking so deeply?” Garima asked her, caressing her hair.

Maya looked up at her mother. Could she talk to her? Take her advice? Maybe not directly, but in an indirect way. She got up from her mother’s lap and sat on the bed.

“I was thinking about one of my friends. She has landed in a very strange situation and wants my advice,” she lied.

“What situation?”

“A man had ruined her past; I mean, he had snatched her career, and now that same man wants to marry her.”

Garima was confused.

“That’s shocking,” she replied. “What made him change his mind?”

“He realized it was a misunderstanding. He even apologized for that act, but my friend isn’t sure if she should accept his apology and give him such a huge chance.”

Garima went into a thoughtful mood.

“I see. But does he love her?”

Maya gulped hard. LOVE? And Ranveer Malhotra? She didn’t know that, but there was an unusual affection in the way he behaved with her.

“She thinks so, but she cannot name it as Love. She is unsure,” Maya replied. “But he takes care of her and loves her family too. He is very polite now with her, unlike the past. He seems to be a complex man, though, and my friend doesn’t know completely about him.”
