“No… you didn’t. Not when I needed you to. Doesn’t matter, though. I’m not finished with you yet.”

She grabbed the pillow above her head and bit down into it as she screamed. Each time she came, it created another layer of sweat and determination in me. I would hold back until she just couldn’t take it anymore. Hot and cold, remember?

Her body held me firmly, spent. I rocked my hips, gradually speeding up the pace until my body took over. I gripped her tightly as I released while inside her, and I pumped each spurt into her. Relief took hold in a mind-shattering experience that made my muscles tense so tightly that the pain burned into pleasure. Fucking perfect! Needing air and space to breathe, I rolled over onto the bed, gulping as much in as possible.

“You were trying to kill me.” She mumbled hoarsely.

“Yeah.” I chuckled. “I was.”

She mumbled something that I couldn’t decipher.

“I should call you kitten.”

“What? Why?!” She raised her head to voice her objection.

“Because you purr, that’s reason enough.”

She threw her head back into the pillow, making me chuckle. “Baby girl, I’ll call you whatever I want.”

“Mhm…” But it didn’t count since I knew she was already falling back asleep. I’d save this argument for another day. Because well, I wasn’t ready to let her go. Now I needed to persuade Torin of that.

Since we were flying up to meet him in two days to figure things out with Sam, it was the perfect opportunity to do it. Sam was also going out of town to handle some things and we’d agreed to talk when we were all back to talk next steps. It was easy to feel between the three of us. I hoped that Torin would feel it too.

Chapter Eleven

TORIN

Ientered Club Sin and the familiar feeling hit home. One where you’re around like minds and you relax into yourself in a way that lets guards fall down. This was a judgment free zone in a place where everybody was okay with showing you who they really were.

I’d chosen to wear all black tonight; jeans, collared shirt, suit jacket, shoes, and even my handkerchief. My ginger hair stood out against the darkness, marking me as easy to see. I walked through the mainroom to get to the bar area. The music was pretty mellow and I tapped my fingers to a rock favorite of mine.

When the bartender handed me my drink, she leaned in close so I could hear her. “Your date is in the lounge area waiting. Did you want to dine in the room you reserved or in the dining area?”

“The dining area. I’ll meet her in the lounge and escort her down.”

She nodded and picked up a walkie to communicate. I took a deep breath, before walking toward where she sat with my bourbon in hand. When I neared her, she was facing away from me and it gave me the opportunity to greet her without her seeing me approaching. I sat down next to her and her natural sweetness hit my nose. I could lick the cocoa butter off her skin, it smelled so good on her.

“Hello, Elara.”

Elara looked over at me and her mouth dropped. Then she cleared her throat. “I–I’m waiting on someone.”

“I know. Me.”

She shook her head and given that she kept opening and closing her mouth but no words escaped, I gathered that she was speechless.

“Ms. Ella and I had a long conversation a few months back right around the time that Ellington passed. She granted my approval for your hand.”

“And this is how you chose to ask me?” She stood up and that’s when I noticed the splint. It was on the opposite side and she’d kept it out of view. “No, Torin. We’ve done this already.”

Elara moved to walk away and I stood up. When she didn’t stop, I grabbed her hand, holding it in mine. She turned and I pulled her in for the kiss that I’d wanted to greet her with. Hungrily, she returned the kiss and her hand grabbed the back of my neck. I pulled her into my arms and palmed the top of her ass. She moaned into my mouth, but our mouths never parted as we explored. Drawn to her, I was ready to fuck her right here on the couch. I slowed the kiss to rein in my control over the situation. As I pulled away, she followed and I chuckled.

“Baby,” I cleared my throat, “not out here.”

“Fuck.” she swore to herself. “I shouldn’t have kissed you. I’m here because I wanted to discuss our agreement. God, it wasn’t supposed to be you.” She pulled away and paced along the couch.

“Breathe, baby.”

“Mhm… you don’t know what this means. I can’t do this.” She sighed and sat down tapping the heel of her foot. “Oh my god. I can’t do this. It’s you.”
