“Don’t worry about it honey, I believe you,” he cut her off. “But you’re still an attractive woman and from the view I just caught, it’s natural that I will have some sort of response.” Don’t look. Don’t look. Blossom was scolding herself not to give in, but it didn’t work. The more she told herself not to look, the more she wanted to. So, she gave in. Her eyes moved slowly down to his crotch. His dark jeans didn’t do anything to hide the stiffness pressing against his thigh.

“Oh, mother of all things chocolatey and sexy. Why? Why’d you have to bring this man in front of me?” Blossom mumbled to herself, clutching her chest.

“What are you mumbling about?” SynTanner asked her.

“Nothing!” she exclaimed. “And put that thing away before you hurt somebody!” She pointed at his crotch. SynTanner laughed at her. He rose from the couch and picked up a bag that was at his feet.

“I’m gonna shower. A friend of mine brought me some clothes,” he said.

“Oh—alright,” she whispered. He winked at her before kicking off his boots and strolling into the bathroom. Only when the door was shut did Blossom finally breath. It was true. She hadn’t been with a man in three years, and maybe her sense of size was warped because of it. But damn it, were they all that damn large? She’d seen proof of Chance’s arousal during the months of her captivity, but his print didn’t stretch as far or as wide. Even if she wanted to let loose and just fuck the man her body was yearning for, she doubted she could even handle him. What kind of sorcery was he slinging in his damn jeans?!

Feeling overwhelmed, Blossom flopped down into the mounds of pillows, pulling the covers up to her chin. Why couldn’t she have met the deputy of her city in normal circumstances? Why’d it have to be through a kidnapping scheme that took away part of her life? If it had been any other way, Blossom would have probably ended up in his bed, wrapped in his arms. But maybe it was supposed to be like this. Maybe the universe was working things out.

She closed her eyes as she listened to the shower running. It lulled her to sleep only temporarily. The moment the water cut off however, her eyes flipped open. She watched and waited for SynTanner to emerge. When he did so, he was only wearing black boxer briefs. A tiny gasp slid past her lips. Bringing up the covers higher, she pretended to continue to sleep while she peeked out from behind the covers. She knew his body was fit but seeing it with nothing covering his skin was completely different. With a steely stomach of abs, it was clear he didn’t miss any workouts. A tribal tattoo emanated from his belly button and spread outwards across this abdomen. She couldn’t see it, but she knew the rest of the tattoo wrapped around his back. His arms were bulky but fit his slim physique. Lined with veins, Blossom felt the urge to caress his biceps. As she imagined, a deep v-line pierced his lower stomach, alluding to the secret of what lay behind his underwear. She could tell he was no longer hardened but still, the thickness bolstered against the fabric of his underwear. Where in the holy hell did this man come from? It was like he stepped out of those romance books she read where the males were always well endowed and ruggedly handsome.

The lights cut off in the room, bathing them in darkness. Blossom cursed at the loss of seeing his body, but she knew it was probably for the best. A few moments more and she was going to let Deputy SynTanner have her body anyway he wanted to.
