She averts her gaze, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her dress. I gently tilt her chin up, forcing her to meet my eyes. The sadness I see in those brown depths catches me off guard.

“Talk to me, princess,” I urge softly.

Camila’s lower lip trembles, and tears are streaming down her face before I know it. My heart clenches at her distress, and I instinctively pull her into my arms. She buries her face against my chest, her body shaking with silent sobs.

I hold her close, stroking her hair and murmuring words of comfort. “Shh, it’s okay. I’ve got you.”

I frown as Camila pushes me away, her tear-stained face twisted with anguish. “Do you really have me, Elio? Or is this all just a game to you?”

Her words make panic unfurl within me, but I struggle to understand where this is coming from. She can’t know the truth about our plan or my father’s assignment. “What are you talking about?”

She scoffs, shaking her head in disbelief. “Your brother, Ren, and your friend Dante have been making moves on me behind your back.”

My blood runs cold at her revelation, and a rage courses through my veins. Those fucking idiots agreed to leave me to handle it, so why the fuck are they going behind my back? I clench my fists, trying to control the anger that threatens to consume me. “Are you saying they’ve been coming onto you?”

Camila wipes her tears with the back of her hand, her voice trembling as she speaks. “Ren has been flirting with me, making suggestive comments, and even...” Her voice breaks, and she shakes her head. “He touched me okay. I’m ashamed of it, but I must tell you the truth.”

Fury boils within me as Camila’s words sink in. I can’t believe Ren went behind my back like this. We had a fucking agreement that I would handle Camila, and he just couldn’t resist making a move on her. And Dante? I don’t expect this kind of shit from him.

I take a deep breath, trying to calm the rage that threatens to consume me. I have to play this carefully. Camila can’t know the real reason I’m angry. She can’t find out about our plan to learn her secrets and share her.

I cup her face, wiping away her tears with my thumbs. “Camila, I’m so sorry. I had no idea they were doing this to you.”

She leans into my touch, her eyes searching mine. “You’re not mad at me?”

I shake my head, pulling her closer. “Of course not, princess. I’m furious with Ren for touching you. That’s not okay.”

Camila nods, relief washing over her features. “I thought you might be angry with me for letting it happen.”

I press a gentle kiss on her forehead. “Never. You didn’t do anything wrong.”

But even as I reassure her, my mind is racing with the possibilities. The thought of sharing Camila with Ren and Dante sends a thrill through me. I can imagine her writhing between our bodies, her body arching in pleasure as we take turns with her before filling her to the brim with all three of us at the same time.

I have to fight back a groan at the image. “Listen, Camila,” I say, my voice low and soothing. “I’ll take care of this. I’ll make sure they stop. Okay?”

She nods, burying her face against my chest. “Thank you, Elio. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Her brow furrows then, and I sense she wants to say something.

“What else is on your mind?” I ask.

She purses her lips together. “Just something that Lucia told me about. A secret society that forces the members to share a girl. I was worried you guys were going to do that with me.”

Panic coils through me. She’s heard of the Nexus; I know Renzo’s been obsessed with it since Ty told him about it. He wants Camila to be our slave, but I know she won’t go for it.

“I’ve never heard of it,’ I lie, trying to ease her fears. “You’ve got nothing to worry about, princess. It’s just you and me.”

She clutches me tightly and places her head on my chest again. “Thank you,” she breathes.

I stroke her hair, a smirk tugging at my lips. Oh, if only she knew the truth—that this is all a game—that when I’m finished, she’ll be ruined for all other men and won’t be able to walk away despite my deceptions. But for now, I’ll play the role of the protective boyfriend. And tonight, I’ll make her mine in every way possible. We’ll make her our queen once she’s hooked on me.

I pat my lap, beckoning Camila to come closer. “Come here, princess.”

She hesitates for a moment before settling herself on my thighs, her skirt riding up to reveal the smooth expanse of her legs. I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her flush against my chest.

“Camila,” I murmur, my lips brushing the shell of her ear. “If you don’t trust me or have any doubts about us, then maybe we should cancel our plans for tonight.”

Her head snaps up, and her eyes widen with surprise. “What? No, Elio. I want to be with you.”

I smirk, knowing I have her exactly where I want her. “Are you sure? Because if you’re not ready or don’t want to give yourself to me completely, we shouldn’t go through with it.”
