My mother beams, oblivious to the underlying tension. “Wonderful! Now, let’s enjoy refreshments and get to know each other better.”

As she stands to retrieve more drinks, I catch Dante’s eye. He offers me a subtle wink, and I feel relieved. For now, our secret is safe.

But Elio is the picture of confidence, effortlessly charming my parents with his polite demeanor and genuine interest. Dante and Renzo follow his lead, offering their own flare to the conversation.

During dinner, the conversation flows easily. Dante and Renzo engage my brothers in discussions about sports and travel. At the same time, Elio and I share more about our academic pursuits with my parents. For a moment, I almost forget the complicated web of secrets that brought us all together. And the huge secret we still keep closely guarded.

After the meal, we retreat to the patio, where Sergio pulls me aside, his brow furrowed. “Camila, can I talk to you for a minute?”

I nod, my heart pounding. “What is it, Sergio?”

He glances around, making sure we’re out of earshot. “Do you know what you’re doing with those three guys?”

I stare at him, my mouth suddenly dry. “I-I don’t know what you mean.”

Sergio sighs, shaking his head. “Come on, Camila. It’s obvious. The way they look at you, the way you look at them. And they came to get you from my room at Columbia like they were claiming you.”

I feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment. “Sergio, I don’t know what to say.”

“I’m worried about you,” he says. “They have a reputation. I don’t want you caught up in something you can’t handle.”

I bite my lip, unsure of how to respond. There’s no denying our relationship is unconventional, but I love all three of them, and they love me. “This isn’t some casual fling, Sergio. I love them. And they love me.”

Sergio’s jaw clenches. “Fair enough, I just don’t want you getting hurt.” He sighs, running a hand across the back of his neck. “Can’t deny your one lucky girl getting three hot guys to yourself, though.”

I laugh. “True, how is everything with Jake?”

“Good,” he admits, glancing around to ensure no one is listening. “I guess we’re both keeping secrets about our relationships. Doubt Dad would be happy with either of us, would he?”

I shake my head. “No, but who gives a fuck about what makes him happy? As long as we’re happy, that’s all that matters, right?”

Sergio smiles. “Right. And you are happy?”

“Very,” I say, glancing at where my three guys are huddled together, chatting.

“Good, let’s rejoin everyone then.” He claps me on the shoulder, and we return to the group.

I walk over to Elio and nestle into him. “Hey,” I say, smiling at him.

“Hey, princess.”

Dante and Ren stare at me, their gazes hungry.

Ren clears his throat. “I still don’t get why Elio is your public boyfriend.”

Elio shakes his head. “We discussed it and agreed.”

Dante nods. “Yeah, it just sucks not being able to touch her too.”

I shake my head. “You’ll get a chance later.”

Dante’s eyes darken, and he nods. “I should hope so.”

Father and Mom approach. “We’re going to turn in. But make yourself comfortable and enjoy the evening.”

Mom clutches Elio’s hand. “It’s so lovely to finely meet you, Elio.” She smiles at Dante and Ren. “And your friends.”

My parents retire for the night, forcing a palpable shift in the air. Dante and Renzo’s gazes intensify, their hunger barely contained.
