"Just leave it. Let him go. You know how he gets; there's no point in trying to talk to him now. He can go walk off his mood somewhere else." Camilla sighs in frustration.

"I'll give him a call tomorrow when he's calmed down." I nod, picking up my fork and getting tucked into lunch.

AMELIA

Ipause on the front doorstep, watching Stefano drive away, before I open the front door and tip-toe inside, trying to be as quiet as I possibly can. I really want to make it up to my bedroom and change into different clothes before I bump into my father, and he sees I am still wearing a dress that is clearly the one I went out in last night.

He thinks I slept over at Gia's house, and all my things are still there at her house. It will be a bit obvious if he sees me arriving home in an evening dress.

I glance left and right inside the door. No one is around, so I bolt upstairs, giggling as I run because I have not felt this naughty in a very long time.

I definitely won't class myself as a girl who always does what she is told. I like to party and have fun with my friends. I don't always tell my dad where I'm going. But overall, I'm responsible. Going home with a stranger after a night out with my friends is not on my list of normal things to do.

I hurry into my room and close the door quietly behind me.

Then breathe a sigh of relief as I lean my back against it.

I made it. No one saw me.

I strip out of the beautiful dress Stefano gave me and flick the shower on. When it is nice and hot I step underneath it, reluctantly washing his scent off my skin, that wild forest aroma of pine and crisp mountain air.

I take my time getting dressed, blow drying my hair, and looking presentable before I wander downstairs in a pair of jeans and a comfortable light sweater.

"Hi, honey. When did you get home?" My dad asks when he sees me.

"Not too long ago." I shrug.

"Did you girls have fun last night?"

"We did."

"Did Gia drop you off this morning?"

I nod then quickly change the subject because I don't want to lie to my father. "When is everyone getting here for lunch?"

"Any minute now."

We have a family lunch this afternoon. As far as I know, everyone is coming. My mom and dad and all of their siblings. My aunts and uncles and my cousins too. The only one who won't be here is Serina, my older sister, who is away at college. It's been so weird not having her around this year, but it won't be long before I'll be attending the same university as her.

If she was here, I would have told her all about the hottest man on the planet who I met last night. I grin at the thought.

My mom wanders through in a gorgeous long, flowing dress covered in blue flowers. "You look pretty, Mom."

"Thank you, sweetie. How was your night?"

Before I can answer her, the doorbell chimes and she rushes away. "That'll be your aunt. You know she's always the first to arrive." She laughs.

Soon the house is filled and bubbling with conversation as the entire family sits around the table chatting.

I snap a quick photo on my phone and send it to my sister, Serina. Along with a message that says 'Miss you. Wish you were here.' I know she won't reply now because she's usually in class or study sessions.

"So where did you girls go last night?" My aunt asks, gesturing towards Leanna and me.

Leanna grins at me from across the table. "We went to a casino. Gambled a little bit and then went dancing. It was amazing. Such a good time. We even got to go to the VIP section because the owner took a fancy to Amelia." She giggles.

I shoot her a warning glare.

"What casino?" My father asks, his curiosity peaked.
