“What’s all this?”

“I wanted to get you a few things to physically remember this trip by. I know we took a lot of pictures, but I wanted you to have some things you could hold in your hands.”

He’d strategically packed the bags. I first reached for the Ceylon tea, which I’d savor every sip of. There were also spices, an elephant figurine, and a mask, sari, and sarong that I’d probably get a stand for and showcase in the center of my dressing room.

The last gift at the bottom of the bag was a genuine sapphire and diamond ring that made my mouth water from its shine and beauty. The ten-carat beauty had to cost him close to a hundred thousand dollars. Chandler loved investing in jewelry just as much as I loved investing in art, so knowing that he made that investment for me made my heart expand and pussy gush. We were almost late for the flight because there was no way I wouldn’t use every hole on by body to show my appreciation.

“Hey,” he called softly, gripping my thigh. “You okay over there?”

“Yes. I just miss the island already. London too.”

“Yeah, me too. I miss working, but nothing has ever felt as good as the time I just spent with you.” His declaration caused me to lean over and connect his lips with mine. “Are you sure you don’t want to come back to my place?” he asked, cupping my cheek.

“I’d love to, but I promised Papa I’d come see him when we landed. I haven’t taken a trip that lasted this long in a while.”

“All right. Don’t worry about coming into the office for the next couple of days. Take some time to rest and adjust to the time difference.”

“I would tell you to do the same, but I know you’ll probably end up at the office as soon as the sun comes up.”

Chandler didn’t bother denying that as he unbuckled his seat belt. It was almost four in the morning, which was around the time Papa usually got up anyway. Chandler didn’t typically get up until six, but we’d both slept a lot on the plane.

We kissed and said our goodbyes before heading to our separate town cars. I missed him as soon as we parted ways. Excitement settled in my core at the thought of seeing Papa though. The last time we spent almost two weeks apart was when I went to Korea. For the drive, I took the time to finally respond to emails and text messages. I didn’t get too many calls because I’d told my small circle of people about my trip, so they texted me to avoid not being able to reach me because of the time differences.

The moment we pulled into the long, circular driveway, I bounced in my seat. I hadn’t even allowed Lee to cut the car off before I was hopping out and rushing to the front door. Papa’s house manager, Bartlett, had already been made aware of my arrival, so he had the door unlocked and breakfast being prepared by the kitchen staff. Papa may not have spent his money frivolously, but he paid for convenience and luxury, and I loved and mirrored that. As he aged, he was probably the healthiest and most stress-free person I knew.

I found Papa in the sitting area of his bedroom, sipping tea and reading a book.

“Papa!”

He shut the book quickly, turning at the sound of my voice. “My Belle.” As soon as I was within reach, he pulled me into his arms. “It’s so good to see you and hold you, Belle. I missed you so much.”

My eyes watered, and I swallowed hard, trying to keep my tears from falling as I held him tighter. “I missed you too, Papa.”

“Come. Tell me all about your trip.”

We released each other, and I sat next to him on the cream sofa with burgundy flowers. “Well…”

“There’s something different about you,” he interrupted me to say. His eyes slowly perused my frame, freezing on the ring Chandler had given me. It was on my right ring finger.

“Chandler and I… we agreed to date. Well, I think we’re in a relationship. I’m not exactly sure.”

Papa chuckled as he sat up in his seat. “How aren’t you sure?”

“Well, he told me I was his, but I’m not sure if that was the se—” I almost choked on the word and coughed to cover it up. Papa and I were close, but we weren’t close enough for me to talk to him about my sex life!

“I want to meet him. Then, I’ll ask him myself.”

He leaned forward and grabbed his tea.

“You want to m-meet him? Why?”

“Any man that has captured your heart and brought this light to your eyes… he’s a good man.”

That, I couldn’t deny. A part of me knew that now that things had shifted between Chandler and I that my two favorite men would have to meet, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this soon. I guessed it was past time. They both wanted to meet each other over the years, and it was my choice to keep them apart. Finally, that would change.
