Until Ty eventually rolls onto his back and looks at me. “I’m going to have to build up to doing more than that.”

I chuckle. “Fine by me.”

He tosses the covers back and gets out of bed, and I sit up too, watching him as he pulls on a pair of sweatpants.

“Ty.”

He looks back at me as he grabs a t-shirt from the drawer.

“It’s time,” I say with a serious nod.

His brow furrows as he glances around the room, apparently not getting the seriousness of this situation. “For?”

I get out of bed and stand before him, then take the t-shirt out of his hand and toss it back in the drawer.

“You want to fuck again?” he asks, eyes widening. “I think I need a bit more time after–”

“No.” I shake my head. “I mean, yeah I’d be down, but no. We have something much more important to do first.”

I grab his wrist and pull it into the air above his head.

And he just looks back at me with a question in his eyes.

“You did it.” I smile. “You climbed the final step.”

“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Ty mutters as he rolls his eyes and tries to pull his wrist out of my grasp, but I don’t let him.

“Remember when you told me you don’t celebrate your small wins along the way because there’s no point? That when you get to the end, you’ll celebrate?”

Ty’s eyes meet mine again, but he doesn’t say anything.

“And remember when you told me you have no idea how to be in a relationship?”

He nods slightly, and I give him a soft smile.

“You won, Tiger,” I say as I step closer to him. “You’re at the top of those relationship stairs. Now fucking celebrate.”

He huffs and shakes his head, but I grip his wrist tighter and force it higher above his head.

“I said fucking celebrate,” I say, narrowing my eyes at him.

Ty cocks an eyebrow at me, and as he once again rolls his eyes, I think he’s going to try to pull away again… but then I feel it.

I look up at his hand, as he forms it into a fist.

Fuck yeah. That’s what I’m fucking talking about.

My heel lands on Ty’s ribs as I complete a spinning back kick, and he grunts. I know he felt that, and I hop on my feet and I smile at him. Which he isn’t too happy about.

Before he can step into me, I land two low kicks to his leg. But he quickly delivers one right back to me, forcing me to step back a bit and build my plan.

Because I’m a thinker now.

Kind of.

I come in with a high kick to his head so I can throw him off balance and force him to block, but I also know it’s risky. He can choose to take advantage of my position and go for takedown if he’s quick enough, and there’s not much I can do to defend against it.

But he blocks it and chooses to stay standing.
