“Everyone has a job to do, and you go outand have someone else do it for you.”

Eloise listened to them complaining.

At the sound of a truck rolling up thedriveway, she glanced behind her.

“Holy shit, caught in the act. Here he comesnow.”

Steven was at the back of the car, grabbing the laundry from her quickly.

She didn’t care and had no interest in wolfpolitics. This was the job she and her mother were paid to do.

At the sound of the truck door closing, she couldn’t help but glance over to see Beau himself. It wasstrange, she’d not seen this guy around town at all, and yet, inthe past five days, she’d seen him quite a few times.

He looked … good. Even with dirt on hisknees and legs. The arms of his flannel shirt were rolled up, andshe noticed there was not a single tattoo on his body. Shebelieved that wolvescouldn’t get any kind of ink as their bodies healed toofast.

Beau looked good.

“What the fuck is all this?” Beau asked.

She didn’t say anything as his pack filledin the blanks. Steven took the clothing and with one glance at him, she saw he’d gonepale.

Closing the back of the van,she felt all eyes turned towardher.

“We’re pretty good at what we do,” Eloisesaid.

“And I got a discount,” Steven said.

“You had a job to do and you decided to takeit to outsiders.”

Eloise held her hand up in the air. “Can I leave?”

Beau turned his glare toward her, and shehated to admit it, but he looked … hot. There was no way she wasinterested in this guy. Clearly the full moon, or the water, or theheat, was messing with her head.

“Go inside, now!”

She glanced behind her to see all of themturn on their heels andleave.

“Wow, you have got them pretty welltrained,” she said.

He continued to stare at her.

“We’re only doing a job!”

She was not about to be put in the line offire for dealing with an order, and she wouldn’t allow her mother to take anybullshit either. They worked hard and it wasn’t like the wolvesmade life easy. They were always dirtying shit up.

“What other jobs do you have?” Beau asked.

This question came as a surprise to her.“Other jobs?”

“Yeah, what other shit do youdo?”

“Well, my mom launders and cleans clothes. We have a small haberdashery. She occasionally does seamstresswork. What do you need?” Eloise asked.

“Someone to do our grocery shopping.”

This did come as asurprise to her.“Grocery shopping?”

“Yeah, we’re all fucking useless at it, andeven though I don’t like that Steven didn’t pull his weight, he ison to something. We’re busy here and none of us have time to dealwith food and shit. Can you do that?” he asked.
