Oliver’s dark blue eyes were shining as he watched me sit down and open the box. Inside was a pair of teardrop diamond earrings. They were beautiful and I bet expensive since the diamonds were at least a carat apiece.

“Thank you. These are gorgeous,” I said as I ran my finger over the stones.

“When we make love, I want you wearing nothing but these.”

“Oh? You’re finally giving in?”

He smirked, revealing his pearly whites. “I have several surprises this weekend.”

I regained my strength and ate a good amount of food. The only problem was that it made me sleepy, and I took a nap on the couch after we cleaned the kitchen. I woke up just before 10:45 p.m. to Oliver stroking my face. I give him a smile as I looked up.

“Almost time to go.”

I’m so ready to spend a quiet weekend with him. Even though it’s a holiday, I’m sure his office will contact him with some headache. I’ve gotten used to the interruptions. Oliver has so many things going on, and was very hands-on in his business. I’ve accepted it because it’s part of him and kept my opinions to myself.

“I want to brush my teeth before we go.”

He nuzzled my cheek with his nose before I headed to the bathroom. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Vlad is following us, and I wonder if the man ever sleeps.

"Will we be alone for the weekend?" I ventured, a flicker of uncertainty dancing in my eyes.

Oliver's gaze met mine, a hint of amusement playing at the corners of his lips. "Yes. Why would you think otherwise?"

I swallowed, the nerves fluttering in my stomach. "Is Vlad staying in the house with us, or will he return to the city?"

Oliver reached for my hand, his touch grounding me in his presence. "Vlad's job is to protect me. He'll be in the guest house if he's needed."

My curiosity piqued. "You have a guest house?"

He nodded, a small smile gracing his features. "Yes. Three bedrooms."

"Lucky guests," I quipped, a hint of mischief in my tone.

Oliver chuckled softly. "There have been. I don't often have visitors at my home."

"Matthew is in Southampton this weekend. Maybe we can meet him for drinks," I suggested tentatively, the prospect of him meeting my brother adding another layer of excitement to our weekend.

Oliver's expression softened, his focus unwavering on me. "If you would like, though I'd prefer us to be alone."

A surge of warmth filled me at his words. "I want you to meet my family."

“I want you to meet my family.”

“There will be plenty of time for introductions. I have no plans to let you go.”

I smiled to myself, fingers tracing the delicate sparkle of the diamond earrings adorning my ears. Anticipation twisted in my stomach, a potent mix of nerves and desire as I replayed Oliver's earlier touch in my mind. His skillful tongue had left me reeling, a memory I couldn't shake.

Lost in thought, I watched the expressway lights blur past, casting fleeting shadows across the car's interior. Despite the light traffic, the journey to Oliver's home stretched ahead, a silent countdown to the moment I'd been yearning for.

We arrived just shy of 1 a.m., the night heavy with the scent of salt and anticipation. Oliver's strong arms guided me from the SUV, Vlad trailing behind with our luggage. Exhaustion weighed on me despite the nap I'd stolen earlier, my attention drifting as we approached Oliver's imposing mansion.

Before I could protest, Oliver scooped me up effortlessly, cradling me against his chest. I nestled into his warmth, clinging to him as we ascended the staircase to his sanctuary. The plush bed welcomed me, its softness a comforting embrace as Oliver tenderly removed my sneakers.

In the hazy blur of sleep, I drifted off quickly, cocooned in the tranquility of Oliver's presence.

Waking to darkness, the room enveloped in the silvery glow of moonlight, I reached out and found Oliver beside me, his chest rising and falling in steady rhythm. Fingertips trailed over his bare skin, drawing a soft sigh from him.

"Are you okay?" His voice, a gentle murmur, broke the silence.
