As though all the daily worries and concerns were draining out of her.

It felt like she was twenty pounds lighter.

Although there he went again with the Little stuff.

How the heck did he know? How had he figured it out?

And how come Matt had never taken the time to learn what her Little liked?

That wasn’t fair. Matt had been everything she wanted. She’d been the problem.

“You’re still thinking. Stop it.”

“Just because you give a command doesn’t mean it will happen,” she told him.

God, she even sounded drugged.

“That’s not my experience.”

Sheesh.

“Thumb back in your mouth. Relax. There’s no good reason for you to be thinking.”

She rolled her eyes.

But she made certain to do it when he couldn’t see her.

Gathering up her courage, she blurted out the question on her mind. “Why do you think I’m a Little?”

He huffed out a breath. “I’m not an idiot. And I have a lot of experience with Littles. You scream Little. I nearly fired you because of it.”

“You can’t fire me for being a Little. That’s discrimination.”

“Who are you going to complain to?”

Well. He had her there.

“It’s mean to fire someone when you don’t mean it.”

“Is it? I thought it would be meaner to fire someone and mean it.”

Huh. Drat.

He had her there.

“And I rarely do something that I don’t mean to do. Put your thumb back in your mouth and stop talking.”

Rude.

“Before I find you something else to suck on.”

Faith grew tense. Did he mean . . . was he saying . . . she leaned back to gape up at him.

“My, my, your mind is in the gutter, isn’t it? I didn’t mean that, Little Blossom.”

He hadn’t? Then what had he meant?

He held up a finger. Then, to her shock, he placed it in her mouth.
