Blaze walks out of the living room, whisper-shouting, “All bedding’s washed, dried, and on your beds. Make them before you leave. No more acting like a bunch of slobs. We’re living here, so start taking care of this place as such, or we’ll be kicked the fuck out before we can move back into our homes.”

“Bennett, breakfast is almost finished, and you need to feed whatever beast is hangry as fuck inside of you.”

From behind me, Chloe laughs and draws all attention to us.

Nour lifts his chin. “Just in time. Hope you’re hungry.”

AJ walks over and hands me a sheet of notebook paper. “We figured out a way to make this work.”

“This?” I ask, and Roman chuckles before squatting down and scooping up Elle.

“You had six bedrooms all set up, and the other downstairs living room makes that seven. There’s also a small room upstairs that’s like a reading room?”

I nod.

“That makes eight. You and Rome in one, obviously. Nour and I will share. Bennett and Locke will share. Gwen and Cora have their own because of course they would. That leaves Chloe her own and an extra for when the Harts are back.”

Rome chuckles again.

“Bathrooms, we can shower at the stadium, and?—”

“Sounds good, AJ.” I hold my hand over my stomach. “I’m starving.” I look back at Chloe. “Is Gwen?—”

“She needed a minute.” Chloe winks

The guys are all quiet when Gwen walks in, but plenty of glad you’re home, and happy you’re okay’s are softly spoken.

Gwen thanks them before she and Chloe head straight to the downstairs master, and the rest of us sit at the table, quietly eating.

“Nour”—I point the fork at the omelet—“you’re going to be on breakfast duty. This is amazing.”

He nods. “Most important meal of the day.”

“I want a chore,” AJ whispers with a big-ass grin on his face. “Can we get a chart? Hang it on the wall? Huh? Huh? Can we?”

I laugh. “Maybe.”

“Thanks, Mom,” he says, shoving another bite in his mouth.

“I’m not a mother.”

“Might as well have called her ma’am, jackass,” Blaze grumbles.

“You’re a mother to Elle.” Rome winks.

“He’s not wrong,” Cora chimes in, still pushing her food around, not having taken a bite. “You want kids, CeCe?”

“She’s gonna be a great mom.” Roman smiles, and I feel my cheeks flush.

“How long are you out?” Locke asks Rome.

“A week until reevaluation.”

“I’d ask what you’re going to do all day, but I’d bet?—”

“You do not wanna go there,” Rome warns him.

“Just saying, Elle needs a sibling. Or she’s going to turn out like me.”
