Elle is never going back to her crate to sleep, like ever.

Apparently, her crate has become a safe space when she needs a break from peopling. She also takes her toys in it for safekeeping.

Cecilia

I’m considering getting myself a crate. It looks cozy.

I have to tell you something, don’t be mad. Elle has a drinking problem.

A picture of Elle with a stuffed can of White Paw’ in her mouth showed up next. It was fucking hilarious.

I missed my pup, too, but I am thrilled to be co-parenting with CeCe, even though she’s not aware I call it that, and yeah, only in my head, but there it is.

Mom, Hudson, and Jillian are heading to Blue Valley for a few days, and I’m guessing it’s because they need a break from baseball and wanna give me room to figure all this out.

I slept the entire two-and-a-half-hour plane ride.

Exiting the plane, we all receive a message.

Coach

Tomorrow is a rest day. See you all on Friday.

“Fuck, man, that would be way better if we were home before three in the morning,” AJ grumbles.

“We get to play baseball for a living, man. Fucking baseball.” Nour shakes his head at him, and his steps toward my truck quicken.

“Thank God you have a crew cab,” Blaze says, catching up with us. The fact that he’s speaking to me—hell, any of us—is shocking. The kid doesn’t say more than he has to—ever. “Can I get a ride back?”

“Yeah, sure. Are you staying at your place, or am I dropping you somewhere else?”

“Townhouse.”

A loud whistle comes from behind us, and I glance over my shoulder to see Locke jogging toward us.

“Am I in time for the family rideshare?”

“Yeah, you’re all about to get real cozy back there.”

“Fuck that. Rookies in the back. I call shotgun.”

Nour, who’s already at the passenger door, throws his hands in the air.

“What’s that, Rookie?” Locke taunts.

“Not a thing, old man.”

“That’s spelled V-E-T-E-R-A-N, right?” Locke asks.

“Yeah, sure,” Nour says as I hit the key fob, unlocking the doors, and they all start piling in.

“You’re gonna need to get a roomier ride, man.” AJ chuckles.

“Like a minivan or some shit,” Nour chides.

“Why the hell am I the one getting the minivan?” I ask as I start my truck.
