Instead of finishing him, though, she slowed to a stop and slid to the floor. “Hold my place.” She turned to the keyboard attached to the wall and typed until she pulled up the screen she wanted.

“You think you can fly this?” She turned the screen toward Levi. If blood had been anywhere near his optic nerve, he’d have seen the specs to the escape pod. Becoming aware of his predicament, Cora waited with a smile.

Levi gained the ability to straighten up and walk and then looked at the screen. “Yeah, that looks doable. But that was pure evil.”

Cora’s mouth tipped. “I’ll make it up to you when we get back to safety.” She winked.

“How do we get in?” he asked.

“I’ll check the mainframe when we get back to the storeroom. Should be as simple a hack as any. No one takes the time to protect their escape systems.”

“Really?”

“Have you ever needed an escape pod and found out it was locked? Nobody wants to be stuck on a sinking ship because they don’t know the password.” She pressed a few more keys to backtrack to the home screen and pushed the keyboard back into its storage position.

Seeing that she was finished at the escape pods, Levi made it halfway back to the hold before she could turn around. When he reached the entrance, though, a member of the ship’s crew was poking around the crates covering Cora’s workstation.

“What’s going…” Cora started to say.

Levi spun around to cover Cora’s mouth and motioned for her to stay quiet.

Listening as the hulking alien’s steps receded, he unsheathed his blaster and cleared the hold for them. Cora checked her equipment and found it to be intact. “Got it!” she exclaimed, pointing out what Levi assumed to be the launching codes for the pods.

“Great!” he responded. “Now all we have to do is wait until they leave the Desolation Stone unattended.”

“You say that like it won’t take forever,” Cora moaned.

“I guess we’ll have to find something else to do. Got any ideas?” Levi asked coyly.

“A few,” Cora said, pulling him toward her by his waistband. “Now, where were we?”

Chapter 31

Cora was just as eager as Levi to continue where she had left him when they were looking at the escape pods.

His worry for her well-being on the way to the escape pods and back had stirred her even more. She liked that he was so protective of her.

She jumped on his tall body and wrapped her legs around his hips while throwing her arms behind his neck and locking her fingers to hang on.

“This seems about right.” Levi smirked.

She felt him stiffen and grow just below her hips, and she smiled enticingly at him. “I think this is exactly where we left off.”

Cora lowered herself just enough to place her pelvis against his hardening cock and started to grind against him.

A satisfied groan emanated from Levi’s throat as she pressed herself against him. “I know we have time to kill, but if you keep it up, I’m not going to last very long once I get you naked.”

“Mmm, maybe I don’t want you to. We can see how many times we can finish each other off before we’re able to get to work.” Cora nibbled at his ear playfully and then licked his neck.

She had to stop herself from biting him harder than was necessary. Her need to be satisfied was overpowering. She wanted him now.

She knew she wanted the sex to last, to be tender as it had been in the shack. But she felt a burn that filled her to want to hurry it along and feel the satisfaction of her climax.

It was true, she did want to go rounds with him, but right now, the excitement of almost being caught, the search for the Desolation Stone, and the fact that they could be walked in on at any moment was thrilling to her stimulated body.

Every touch from Levi intensified her already heightened nerves as if they were on fire.

Levi kneeled onto the bedding and laid her on her back while she still clung to him.
