Page 37 of Lycan Rejected

That was certainly news to him. Myles did his best to keep up with the issues within the other kingdoms. It wasn't a known issue for the different kingdoms to mingle with others except if they were looking for work. Gemar was ruthless and ruled his people well from what he understood. There was never a civil war under his rule, which was at least a sign of competency.

"The new Queen killed him after he lost control of his people. She and her five consorts rule that kingdom now."

Five? Five mates?

"Because she was a Plasma, does she have five mates?"

Asher shrugged his shoulders. "That's what I've heard. Something about being a Plasma apparently required her to have five. Maybe that is the same case for Remy Howell. Is she a special Lycan?"

Myles followed what Asher was telling him now. If this new Dragon Queen was a special type of dragon that resulted in her having five mates, maybe that is why Remy had multiple. The problem was that he wasn't sure if there was a special Lycan.

"If she is, Lykos and Tala haven't disclosed it. She didn't mention being one while she was here. I just smelled another on her, and I am not going to share my damn mate. The Goddess gave her to me. Why am I supposed to share her with another?"

Asher shook his head, "Because she was made for you? I'm not sure why you would reject her over that. She didn't choose it. The Goddess did."

Myles stared at his friend. He didn't think of it like that. If Remy was fated to multiple people, she didn't have control over that. No one did. If the Goddess wanted Remy to have more than just him as a mate, Remy wouldn't have had a say in the matter. She met Chase, and things must have played out for them to get that close to completing the bond. She wasn't willing to reject him because the bond was nurtured.

She walked out that door because she knew she had someone who cherished the bond already, and it was your loss.

I'm realizing that.

You're stupid.

I know.

Myles put his head in his head and rubbed his face. "I fucked up."

Asher laughed. "Looks like you did, my friend."

"She is moving on to other territories. I don't even know which one she's headed for. Lykos would rather die than divulge that information."

"Well, you weren't the best at negotiating while they were here."

Myles growled. "Don't remind me. Having her in that room was distracting. My Lycan just wanted to jump over the table and mark her."

"That wouldn't have gone over well."

"No shit, that's why I didn't do it."

"Maybe follow the bond to her?"

Myles shook her head. "Not possible now that it is severed."

"Well, aren't you up shit creek."

Myles glared at his friend. "You are not helpful."

He threw his hands up in surrender again. "I'm just calling it like it is. I doubt it'll be the only run-in with her. When the time comes, use it to your advantage. Or go to the island and bring her back here."

"The island is no more. That Dragon Queen destroyed the barrier, apparently. People can come back any time they want."

Asher frowned at him. "Sometimes those people should stay there. I know some were sent there for the greater good. If they can come back, that's not necessarily a good thing."

"I guess we will cross that bridge if we get there."

"It might come sooner than you think. We need to prepare the pack. I already called them in for a meeting. They should at least know we are going to receive some shipments of supplies. I bumped into Lykos and Bryan while you talked to Remy. Lykos said to send a list of things we could use to his address, and his people will put together the first order."

"Good. Thank you for doing that."
