My whole body responded by tensing with jealousy. Jealousy, that made my cock harden. I gripped the surface edge until my fingertips turned white.

Dec patted my back, a knowing grin on his face. “What did Remi get you?”

“Uhmm...”

“She hasn’t been given it yet.”

“Well, if it’s something you give her with your cock and not an actual wrapped gift, you’re failing as a husband.”

“I’ll be giving her both.” I winked, letting her know one gift was an IOU. “Shall I get your family-friendly gifts?”

She nodded, a big smile on her face.

Smooshing her cheeks between my fingers, I stepped into her, needing the feel of her tongue in my mouth. My cock brushed her thigh.

“Kinda feels like you wanna give me the not-so-family-friendly gift right now.”

“Oh, always.” I winked, again. Forcing myself away, I made off down the hall, returning with two envelopes, a teddy bear, and a bunch of her favorite flowers.

With me firmly planted between her legs and the perfect things wrapped around me, she took the first gift, the flowers, to her nose and breathed them in. “I love roses.”

I knew that.

She gave her attention to the bear under my arm next. A peculiar little thing that allowed notes to be written on its body. I’d left her a dozen, all sentimental love notes and promises that brought tears to her eyes.

One of those tears fell as she looked at me.

“He’s kinda special.”

“He is. He can sit with your panda and ring bearer at the bottom of the bed.”

“And you won’t kick him off?” Her raised eyebrow hid behind a wave of hair that I tucked behind her ear. My hands kept moving down her bare arms.

She’d been more confident these last few days, in the house, at least. She no longer publicly displayed every worry about her body. She walked around in less clothes, hot, as summer neared.

And fuck, she looked hot.

My scar crinkled as I smiled over her.

“Well?”

“Well, yeah, it’s possible that I’ll kick him off.” I always kicked them off. “It’s the height thing.”

“Bull shit. You need to be more careful with your manhandling of my bears.”

“I’ll try, I promise.”

She placed the teddy to her side, picked up both envelopes and asked, “Which should I open first?”

“I’ll let you choose.”

Her fingers tore through a pink envelope first, and in there was a card—the first one I had ever given to anyone—personalized with all the photos she’d taken of us, most of which, were in this last week.

“Happy birthday, my beautiful wife. I’m wishing you the best day and so many more. I love you endlessly. I’ll be obsessed with you forever. Forever yours, whether you like it or not, Remi,” she read the inside out loud.

“That’s a very Remi-sounding card.” Dec moved over to Ollie, giving us privacy for the last gift.

“Open the other one, but be careful.”
