I keep screaming and thrashing, wanting to drag myself closer to him so I can try and hit him.

“Behave yourself little girl,” he is coming unto me, and with the quick flex of his left hand, I know what he is about to do.

A hard smack slams across my cheek again, and it burns like a motherfucker.

I cuss at him, screaming and thrashing, and this time, I get him good. My feet kick against his, and he hisses so sharply that it sounds like a snake.

That’s what he reminds me of—a viper.

“We can go all day, and I will keep on slapping some manners into you,” he comes down to my level, crouching, “But you bore me,” he exhales, “and I kill a thing when it bores me.”

That one shuts me up, but I’m seething.

“You have something to say?” He reaches for the tape and rips it off with a quick swipe. Fuck. I groan, balling my fists to hold down the pain. “What is it?”

“Fuck you,” I spurt, about to spit in his face, but before I can, he puts the tape back in.

“I would have loved to see you fuck me, but then again, you are boring,” he stands. Not one word he has said since I’ve met him isn’t condescending. He esteems himself so high it’s annoying. “But you are in luck, little one,” he smirks. “Your…” he swirls his pinky finger in the air, drawing an invisible pattern, one with a gold ring that I take to be a signet, “… leprechaun is coming to get you.”

Ronan.

I blink, my seething quieting down at the thought of Ronan coming here. Why would he want Ronan to come here? What does he plan to do to him?

“Behave yourself, play your part, and you’ll be grand,” he adjusts his glasses. “Get in my way, interrupt my plans, and well,” he shrugs, “I’ll be grand.”

I should have known he had an ulterior motive. A bigger plan that I’m a pawn in.

“I will tell you a little secret,” he dips his voice, “You were a mistake. It was Sofia Ferreri I wanted, and you just so happened to get your unfortunate self in the way.”

Now it all makes sense… why would he kidnap me and at the Ferreris’ estate gate?

He thought I was Sofia.

Sick bastard.

Chapter Thirty-One

RONAN

“You collect the men here, and I will get more from Cesare,” I hop out of my car, to meet Cesare.

“I like the man you're becoming,” Liam plucks his phone out of his jeans and puts a call through.

I have a plan this time, and it's pretty straightforward. Obliterate. Anything and any fucking person that gets in my way of getting to Olivia.

I cannot imagine what she is going through, both physically and mentally. She went from being a major suspect in a murder case to losing her hard earned job, and then this.

She has been through so much, and I hate that it all started because I reappeared in her life. I'm the cause of all this.

Damien has taken the fight to the sea, and I need men, but I will not risk taking all of mine because we need backup just in case shit goes south.

“I won't help you,” Cesare snaps.

“She is important to me,” I clip.

“And why should I care?” He shrugs.

Hmm. I nod, as if acknowledging his point.
