Her eyes glinted.

“As much as you can handle.”

I kissed her once more and parted.

My head swam with lust as I crossed to my wardrobe and put some clothes on.

I dropped my towel in the laundry basket.

“Would you like something to drink? I only have water.”

I wished I had a drinks cabinet or something else to offer her besides water.

“Sounds great,” she said, switching off the stove and bringing the saucepan over to two empty bowls on the dining table.

She poured a little into one bowl and the rest into the bigger one. It was a stew and consisted of mixed vegetables and whatever meat I had in the refrigerator.

“I hope you don’t mind me wearing some of your clothes,” she said.

Was she kidding? She was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen.

“It’s fine.”

She added a plate with a hunk of bread on it and placed it between us.

We took a seat on either side of the table.

That throbbing golden light I felt deep inside me was gyrating a rhythmic dance now.

Suddenly, the cell didn’t feel like a cell anymore. It felt like… a home?

I recalled the handful of memories I had from when I was young.

One was a small room filled with toys and a green garden outside.

Now that I was there with Ivy in my presence, I recalled that same warm feeling I did right now.

This was what a home looked like.

A nice meal, a beautiful girl… and the desire to tear her clothes from her body and consume her…

She watched me nervously as I reached for the bread. It was rock hard but softened when I dipped it in the soup.

It could have tasted like sludge and it still would have been the most delicious meal I ever had.

“How is it?” she said.

“Really good.”

“Good.”

We slurped on our food and watched each other while we emptied our bowls.

“What’s it like to fight in the pit?” Ivy said. “I’ve seen the fights on the screens but it must be a different experience when you’re actually there.”

“It depends on who I’m fighting. If it’s a bad guy who I know deserves a pounding, I let him have it. I don’t feel guilty at all. But when it’s someone I know is there even though he’s innocent… It’s a little more difficult.”

“I heard some rumors that you’re innocent. You’re not here because you committed a crime.”
