“I’ve been working for you guys for the last six months." I knew she had chosen her words carefully. Whether to remind herself or me about the status of our relationship, I wasn’t sure, and I didn’t care.
“Six months, so you know we're not the type of men to do anything we don't want to do.”
“But—"
“No buts.” I leaned in and kissed the top of her forehead. It was innocent, but it was still a liberty I was taking that I shouldn’t have. Especially when she was wrapped up in nothing but a towel that showed off a hell of a lot of leg and skin.
My fingers skimmed her bare shoulder before my fingertips brushed against the bottom of her chin, and she looked up at me like I could possibly have all the answers to the world.
“We want to take care of you. Please let us.” I watched her neck muscles contract, and then she nodded. “Good girl,” I praised, and she blushed. “You get in there and shower.” I stood and then moved behind her.
“Wait, where are you?—"
“I’m going to wait here,” I shared as I shut the toilet seat and sat down. “Go.” I pointed at the shower wishing we would have predicted this moment and had chosen a glass shower door instead of a lavender shower curtain.
“You’re going to…” The look on her face was adorable. “But I have to...” Her hand clenched around the front of her towel.
“You have to?” I pretended not to understand what the problem was.
“Casey,” she growled. I fucking fell deeper in love.
“Maybe you are feeling better.” She rolled her eyes and sighed. “Fine. I’ll close my eyes.” I hated having to do it, but I wouldn’t want to see anything she wasn’t absolutely ready to show me. I shut my eyes, and darkness enclosed me.
Somehow, though, I could feel her staring at me. “You’re not going to peek? You promise?”
“Promise.” I smiled, and to play with her, I crossed my fingers and held them up.
“Case!” She sighed, and I shook my head.
“I’m kidding! I promise, baby. I won’t look unless you ask.”
“Fine.” A whoosh sounded, and my eyes tightened shut. She’d let the towel drop and was standing in front of me naked. Fuck! My hands had been resting on my knees now fisted so hard, my nails dug into my palms.
But I didn’t look at her.
“Thank you, Casey,” she said softly, and my head jerked. I could feel her looking at me. Soon enough, she wouldn’t be saying my name when she thanked me. She’d be thanking daddy.
One of her three daddies. I forced myself to breathe in and exhaled slowly. A moment later, the shower curtain shuffled open and then rustled shut.
But I still didn’t open my eyes.
“The water's cold,” she whined. I grunted and cleared my throat.
“It’s to help keep your body temp down. To help with your fever,” I called out. My hands opened and stroked the tops of my thighs. I tried to ignore the throbbing between my legs, but fuck it was hard when the air around me started to smell like our Rosie. Maybe it was her shampoo or her body, but whatever it was made my mouth water.
“You can open your eyes now,” she called from inside the shower, but I didn’t for a long moment.
When I did, my eyes landed on the discarded towel on the ground. I was hyperaware of every sound she made inside the shower. My mind ran wild with images of water sluicing down her curves and the way I would do my damnedest to lick every drop up before letting it fall on the ground. Her hands would glide up and down her smooth skin until I would stand and pin them up above her head.
“Casey?” she called my name and snapped me out of my dirty thoughts.
“Yeah?” I coughed and cleared my throat. The curtain rustled, and when I looked up, her pretty face peeked through.
“Thank you. I probably sounded like a brat right now, and I just… I’m not used to this, you know?”
“Used to what?” My head tilted as my eyes locked on hers.
“Someone taking care of me. I mean… my sister is great, but it’s been a while since it's just been us. When she got married, they moved here and… I don’t know.” She chewed on her lower lip. “I haven’t been close to a lot of people. I just don’t want you to think I don’t appreciate what you guys have done.”
