What was up with the Uzis?

“Fuck!” I yelled, trying to keep my eyes on Isadora and Kennedy.

“Vigo, get up here. Pick up Anders,” I yelled through the earpiece over the sound of the machine gun.

Isadora appeared to be just as ruthless as her father. She unleashed tons of bullets.

“Vigo, approach with caution. He could be conscious.”

“Understood, boss,” he responded.

Kennedy increased her speed. I drove by Anders to keep up with my wife.

She removed a Glock from her waistband.

My fucking heart now pounded in my ears. I could barely hear a thing over all the gunfire.

“Kennedy, baby, stop,” I roared. Bullets flew around her. I was so worried she’d be struck by a bullet.

Kennedy aimed the Glock as bullets from the Uzi continued hurling at us. A bullet left her Glock, slamming into Isadora’s shoulder.

I fired my rifle, too. My bullet slapped Keziah’s arm.

Kennedy’s rubber bullet smacked Isadora in the center of her head.

Kennedy didn’t let up. The second Isadora fell to the ground and rolled smacking the wall, she relentlessly plowed Keziah down. Keziah aimed a Glock at us with that arm I hit. She struggled to keep it steady.

A smile curled Kennedy’s lips. “Gotcha, bitch.” A bullet left Kennedy’s Glock and plunged into Keziah’s shoulder. I fired another round, and the rubber bullet smacked her in the back. She slipped off the four-wheeler like a sack of potatoes.

Kennedy hopped off the four-wheeler, then slammed her boot on Keziah’s back. “Time to die, you rotten bitch.”

Clip aimed his rifle at Isadora’s head. She appeared to be unconscious.

We weren’t taking any chances.

My gaze moved to my wife.

Kennedy’s sinister eyes never left Keziah. “First, Keziah, I’ll have fun torturing you. I always wanted to cut up my barbie dolls. Now I can,” Kennedy laughed.

Twenty-minutes later, we stood in another cave. Barrels of wine covered one wall. Anders, Keziah, and Isadora sat in fancy chairs that Vigo and Piero grabbed from the dining room. Their wrists and ankles were bound. There wasn’t a need for a plastic sheet on the ground. Little did my wife know we were burning this bitch to the ground.

Caressing Kennedy’s waist, I backed her into the far corner of the room. She peered up into my eyes. “Kennedy, I need to know I can trust you in times of chaos.” My hands moved to her face because it was important that she focused on our conversation. Not the enemies in the room.

“You can, Franco.”

My eyes narrowed. “Are you sure? Because it felt like you could’ve been struck by a stray bullet while your tunnel vision honed in on wounding our enemies?”

“Franco, he shot me. And those bitches bullied me for years.”

I pulled her into my chest. “Now you can have your way with them.”

Her fingers roamed my back. I didn’t flinch. Actually, I felt calm considering we were standing in another cave.

She smiled, pressing her lips against mine. “I want to be alone with you, Franco.”

“Soon, Kennedy, you will. When we get home, I’ll wait on you hand and foot as promised.”

She grinned again.
